Out Shopping With Friends


My friends and I planned a trip to Archiver's today. I was so proud of myself for restraining. I put in half of what I wanted, then went to the back of the store and sat down (only because the more I looked, the more I found I wanted) and talked myself out of half of the half I put into my shopping cart! Hurray for me! They have so many fun goodies. It would be so nice not to worry about price and just get everything you wanted, even if you never thought you would use it. I love collecting products. I love to surround myself with beautiful products, which I may or may not ever use but just to have it "in case". Is that terrible?

After our trip to the scrapbook store, we had lunch at UNO's...Yummy. I love the salad I ate. I filled up on fountain Pepsi (3 glasses) and ate 1 piece of my pizza and brought the other piece home. Pizza had way to much broccoli for my taste but it was an enjoyable morning! THANKS FRIENDS!

Easter Bunny Is Coming


It is like Christmas all over!

Niece didn't want to go to school on Thursday. I said, "You have to get ready for school because the Easter Bunny is coming this weekend." "You want him to come to your house don't you?" "YES" She said. "Will I get a big, big basket?" "I bet you will if you get ready to go." I then said, "Well you must hurry and get dressed and get ready for school so he will come"...She ran as fast as her little legs would take her to get dressed. I feel bad lying..

I bought her a Strawberry Short Cake towel, a new dress and a pair of sandels. Daddy bought her a new pair of tennis shoes...Very cute too!...Mommy picked out all the cute things including the basket, which is adorable by itself.

Chocolate



I remember getting these chocolate bunnies when I was little from the Easter bunny. I would get one with a pink bow and my brother would get one with a blue bow. I don't know if this is something, which my brother would remember or not but I believe we used to pretend and do crazy things like it was hurting the bunny...just like the cartoon.

I am courious, what is the difference between chicken tenders and chicken strips?

Monday


We went with Lynn and Parker to Bub's tonight. First sandwich I had to send back, the cow walked acrossed the pasture and into my bun. The second was a little better. Parker is getting so big! He is head and shoulders taller than niece!!

I had a stressful day today. One of computers at work will not log in to the internet and I am the one who is trying to fix the problem. I am going to call someone in tomorrow to fix it. I can't take much more of these computer issues and the employee is beside herself because she can't work at her desk. It seems any little thing and she goes nuts.

Highlight of my day was I saw my coach. It is so nice to get to go in and dump your problems and get them out into the open. He listens and gives feedback and helps me clear my head. It is wonderful. I would recommended having a business coach to anyone who is in a management role.

I can't wait...3 more days until freedom because I am off on Good Friday!!!!

Birthday at Cancun


SIL brother, mother and mother's "adopted son" came down and we went to Cancun's for SIL brother's birthday! I used the word retarded and then realized it wasn't a good thing to say the moment I said it due being in mixed company. (Not that it is good to say anyway...) Birthday boy said he actually has said worse on several occasions one saying, "F N Retard" while driving and yelling at another driver and adopted son doesn't realize it wasn't socially acceptable or even the fact that he is mentally challenged. Adopted son only said, "It isn't nice to say bad words". I felt bad and hope to learn from this.

The best news of the up and coming week is that I have a 4 day week! Hurray for me! We get off on Good Friday! I am hoping to take the following week off for spring break...(the owner of the company went last week) and I left him a message stating I needed to take a spring break off soon too. So we are going to get it on the calendar a week which I can take off. I think this needs to be done before MJ leaves as he graduates from law school in May.

Anger Management

When you occasionally have a really bad day, and you just need to take it out on someone, don't take it out on someone you know, take it out on someone you don't know.

I was sitting at my desk when I remembered a phone call I'd forgotten to make. I found the number and dialed it. A man answered, saying "Hello."

I politely said, "This is Chris. Could I please speak with Robyn Carter?"

Suddenly a manic voice yelled out in my ear "Get the right f**in number!" and the phone was slammed down on me.

I couldn't believe that anyone could be so rude. When I tracked down Robyn's correct number to call her, I found that I had accidentally transposed the last two digits.

After hanging up with her, I decided to call the 'wrong' number again.

When the same guy answered the phone, I yelled "You're an asshole!" and hung up. I wrote his number down with the word 'asshole' next to it, and put it in my desk drawer.

Every couple of weeks, when I was paying bills or had a really bad day, I'd call him up and yell, "You're an asshole!"

It always cheered me up.

When Caller ID was introduced, I thought my therapeutic "asshole calling" would have to stop.

So, I called his number and said, "Hi, this is John Smith from the Verizon. I'm calling to see if you're familiar with our Caller ID Program?"

He yelled "NO!" and slammed down the phone.

I quickly called him back and said, "That's because you're an asshole!"

One day I was at the store, getting ready to pull into a parking spot. Some guy in a black BMW cut me off and pulled into the spot I had patiently waited for. I hit the horn and yelled that I'd been waiting for that spot, but the idiot ignored me. I noticed a "For Sale" sign in his back window which included his phone number, so I wrote down the number.

A couple of days later, right after calling the first asshole (I had his number on speed dial) I thought that I'd better call the BMW asshole, too. I said, "Is this the man with the black BMW for sale?"

"Yes, it is", he said.

"Can you tell me where I can see it?" I asked.

"Yes, I live at 34 Mowbray Blvd, in Vaucluse. It's a yellow house, and the car's parked right out in front."

"What's your name?" I asked.

"My name is Don Hansen," he said.

"When's a good time to catch you, Don?"

"I'm home every evening after five."

"Listen, Don, can I tell you something?"

"Yes?"

"Don, you're an asshole!" Then I hung up, and added his number to my speed dial, too.

Now, when I had a problem, I had two assholes to call. Then I came up with an idea. I called Asshole #1.

"Hello."

"You're an asshole!" (But I didn't hang up.)

"Are you still there?" he asked.

"Yeah ," I said.

"Stop calling me," he screamed.

"Make me," I said.

"Who are you?" he asked.

"My name is Don Hansen."

"Yeah? Where do you live?"

"Asshole, I live at 34 Mowbray Blvd , Vaucluse, a yellow house, with my black Beamer parked in front."

He said, "I'm coming over right now, Don. And you had better start saying your prayers."

I said, "Yeah, like I'm really scared, asshole," and hung up.

Then I called Asshole #2. "Hello?" he said.

"Hello, asshole," I said.

He yelled, "If I ever find out who you are..."

"You'll what?" I said.

"I'll kick you r ass," he exclaimed.

I answered, "Well, asshole, here's your chance. I'm coming over right now."

Then I hung up and immediately called the police, saying that I lived at 34 Mowbray Blvd, Vaucluse, and that I was on my way over there to kill my gay lover. Then I called Channel 9 News about the gang war going down in Mowbray Blvd, Vaucluse.

I quickly got into my car and headed over to Mowbray. I got there just in time to watch two assholes beating the crap out of each other in front of six cop cars, an overhead police helicopter and a news crew.

NOW I feel much better.

Brother Is Super Genius

Hurray for Brother! He decided it would be best to strip my computer and reload everything from scratch. I was going to buy a program, which should have taken care of the spyware but he said "NO GO"...So I am very, very happy because he did a very nice and generous thing and fixed my computer!! Hip Hip!

SIL is evil (not really) but I told her so...She and I went to Scrapbook Corner tonight after I told her I wouldn't be shopping until we take a trip down south..Well I was tempted..But the good news is I DIDN'T BUY A THING! I sure wanted to but I didn't cave in. (I plan on taking a trip to the one in Clay Terrace this week tho)...(HOLD ME BACK)

I really dislike Daylight Saving Time. I am not tired when I am supposed to be and tried when I need to be awake. Like now, normally it would be 9 p.m. and I would be in my room starting to relax and take the night in but NO NO NO, it is really 10 p.m. and I am just going up...If we hadn't changed, I would be on schedule...I know, I know, let it go...But I feel like I have jet lag. Does anyone else feel this way?

I am very happy to report that my friend Kathleen (From Nashville Indiana) is adopting a dog she was fostering. The dog's name is Miss Margaret and she is fracking cute!

Work went well today. I got to leave early so I really can't complain much. I passed (PROPER TERM) delegated work like I should have been all along so that felt good too. I am learning..It has only taken me 6 years to do it...

Hope everyone was safe during those storms last night. We ended up in the basement after 10 p.m.

I can not for the life of me get spyware off my computer. I have ran 3 differnt programs and after the final program is ran, I got a pop up. I could have screamed. I am not a drinker (the only hard stuff I drink is coca-cola) but after dealing with this problem, I want to go on a binge.

I have seen this one before but it made me laugh when I read it again.

When someone puts in for Child Support, the proper thing to do is to find out who the father is and see why he is not providing support. The following are all replies that Dallas women have written on Child Support Agency forms in the section for listing father's details. Or putting it another way...

Who's yo Daddy! These are genuine excerpts from the forms.

1. Regarding the identity of the father of my twins, child A was fathered by Jim Munson. I am unsure as to the identity of the father of child B, but I believe that he was conceived on the same night.

2. I am unsure as to the identity of the father of my child as I was being sick out of a window when taken unexpectedly from behind. I can provide you with a list of names of men that I think were at the party if this helps.

Sick Today


I spent most of the day in bed sick today. It really sucks to have to take a day off work and spend it laying in bed sick and not up shopping, doing crafts and/or playing. I think I took every known over the counter drug there was in the last 24 hours. I don't know what finally helped, but I am feeling some better now. I feel better to work tomorrow even though I know if I took one more day, I would be even stronger but I have customers who need help and no one else has been trained (yet) to do the work. Hoo Ha Ha..that is goin' change.

My friend Stephanie and I started stamping all my unmounted stamps later this evening. She is going to scan the sheets so we will be able to filp through pages (and pages and pages) to see what could be used for a project. This should help a great deal. She did this to her own personal stash of stamps and it turned out great.

I am really, really happy that tomorrow is Friday. Friday is the day my renter said he would bring me some money. Please pray that I see him and that he brings me his rent. I might have to kung fu this man if he doesn't pay up. That would not be a good thing. I might strain myself.

I received a phone call today from my mother who said I had a new half brother. I said I didn't want another brother that one was enough. Soon I found out that my new brother was named Wiley and he was a dog. Well that made me happy! He is part Jack Russell and part Rat Terrier.

Hair Day


I had an appointment to see my hair dresser today. My hair has been so UGLY and I wanted a change. So I started looking at the books. She came in and said, "How about we straighten your hair?" Hey, I am game! She doesn't want me to have short hair because she said, "you are a professional lady, you can't have short hair." I was thinking to myself my hair looks like crap! This isn't professional! So I let her put a perm which straightens my hair out. Then after that, it was to late to cut my hair! So I hope my hair doesn't look worse than normal. I guess it couldn't get any worse...I got home and SIL said, "Did you get your hair straightened?" I was afraid to ask if it was worse or better.

Good Weekend


I had a pretty good weekend, other than my shoulder was in a world of hurt! I got to play with my niece and this alone equals a good weekend for me.

My friend Kathleen asked us to dog sit her foster dog for a few hours. This dog and niece got along so well. They played and played ! It was really cute seeing them together.

Owners wife called me today. Owner had chest pains, which would not cease so had to go into the ER. Owner than left early to do more testing. I am praying it is nothing serious.

Sorry about this one..but it made me laugh!


Bill Clinton started jogging near his new home in Chappaqua.

But on each run, he happened to jog past a hooker standing on the same street corner, day after day. With some apprehension he would brace himself as he approached her for what was most certainly to follow.

"Fifty dollars!" she would shout from the curb.

"No. Five dollars!" fired back Clinton.

This ritual between Bill and the hooker continued for days.

He'd run by and she'd yell, "Fifty dollars!" And he'd yell back, "Five dollars!"

One day however, Hillary decided that she wanted to accompany her husband on his jog. As the jogging couple neared the problematic street corner, Bill realized the "pro" would bark her $50 offer and Hillary would wonder what he'd really been
doing on all his past outings.

He realized he should have a darn good explanation for the junior Senator.

As they jogged into the turn that would take them past the corner, Bill became even more apprehensive than usual. Sure enough, there was the hooker.

Bill tried to avoid the prostitute's eyes as she watched the pair jog past.

Then, from the sidewalk, the hooker yelled, "See what you get for five bucks?"

Christine's Stamp Camp

I wasn't sure so I emailed Christine. The next stamp camp is April 13th. (This is not the tin camp.) I am so looking forward to attending! I get so much out of going each month and I really am getting more comfortable at creating and I am contributing to much of it to Christine and my coach. It is nice to finally use some of the products I have and then feel comfort in giving them.

Pretty Good Day

The owner was out and we played. I hired a massage therapist to come in and give everyone chair massages. Everyone loved it! I am so happy I did that because it gave a couple of my employees their first massage. Boy where they surprised and happy. Each time one of them came out, they looked like they had just rolled out of bed and still looked tired. It was really great. My one guy said he felt "violated" because his butt was touched and massaged. It really wasn't but we just laughed at him and he laughed back. I then left early...The first time all week. It felt good. Then the parental units brought the niece home and brought Chinese food and we ate and visited. It was a good day!

I gave one of the girls in my office a gift for her birthday. I brought the metal sheet from Loews and then had holes poked in them, tied the ribbon and put some really cute magnets on the sheet. She LOVED it and it was a very reasonable gift to give.

We got to move it move it

Okay, let's plan a date. I didn't see anything very interesting and I certainly didn't see much of anything, which had the word FREE attached to it. I am open! What day will work for everyone to take a trip down south to do some shopping?

Update on work...I told 2 employees they needed to focus and stop talking and laughing so much. Do you know how hard that was for me?? I love to laugh and talk...but don't worry, they didn't throw knives at me...just daggers. I handled the situation all wrong. Now, I have to talk to coach and come back and say, "Guys, I handled that situation wrong." Also say, "It isn't that I don't want you to shut the f@ck up, I just didn't say it as I have been trained to do so." I am sure it will all be okay soon.

We are celebrating one of my employee's birthday tomorrow. I had it on my calendar it was her birthday. Come to find out, it was this past Wednesday. I am such a good boss.

Saturday

We had a girls afternoon with my, niece and SIL. We went and had lunch at Nature's Garden (yummy) then went to Scrapbook Corner for a bit of shopping. On our way back, we stopped and received pedicaures for our feet at a new nail place....It was a pretty nice place in the new shopping center right after Big Foot and before the Kroger center on 32. Came back to Carmel and stopped at Handel's Ice Cream and I stood in line forever in the 10 degree weather to get ice cream for us but what a great afternoon.

Feeling a little guilty because niece wants me to come and play with her but I need a little time to myself at this moment. She is knocking at my door right now. I always tell myself she will only be this age at this very moment so I treasure the time she wants to be with me. However I need just a few moments to myself. Normally, it only takes 10-20 minutes for me to regroup and join back in.

New InkPad



I really like the Palette inkpads. They will stamp on any surface. The only draw back is they dry quickly so they are not the greatest if you want to emboss but they sell an embossing pad too. I purchased the 4 (mini) packs of the different colors to use and to sample. They stamp crisp and really nice.


I am really looking forward to riding in an oiled up, clean looking, brake tapping machine soon. I just wish an April calendar was up on line so a date could be set!

I need a quiet mind

It is 2:00 a.m. and here I am typing away. I can't sleep. I am sure much of it has to do with my job. This job is affecting my sleep and my personal time. It seems I can't stop thinking (subconsciously as well as conscious) about what is going on at work while I am at home. I really dislike that. I have to learn to turn it off.

Everyone knows I finally let go of my trouble child last month. Now it seems, someone has stepped up to the plate to fulfill this role yet again. I asked my coach and he said this happens a lot. I guess I have to deal with it again. You better believe it is going to be handled now rather than later. I can't go through this for months on end like I did the last time. I have grown somewhat skeptical, which is against my nature. I trust everyone over and over and over. Not a good thing when you are the boss but never less it is part of my profile as a person.

While I am up, my stomach is growling which leads me to tell everyone....Penn Station has "Kids eat free" with a purchase of an adult meal on Tuesday nights. Includes the drink too.

Well, I am going to turn on some relaxing music and try to get some sleep.

Exhausted

6:40 p.m. and I am back at home. Spoke to owner of my company today. Sounds like the last 2 days weren't good. He wants to talk to me about how some of my staff is either going to have to get with the program or get with someone elses program. Oh boy, looks like I am going to get practice sooner rather than later with what I just learned.

Anyone need a new job out there? I am going to be hiring again.

Back At It

Back to my conference I go. I am so stressed even though I had a pretty good nights sleep. Waking up only a few times, which I really dislike but my bladder is thankful for...anyway, I am looking forward to seeing what I learn today. It is so so so interesting and I know this is going to become useful in my life.

Real Time Coaching

Went to my class all day today. My head started to hurt in the middle of the day. Thank goodness to the receiptionist outside who gave me ibprofen and tylenol. I don't know if the headache was from all the information or if I was stressed about work. I had so many calls come in and employees were freaking out. It is so sad. I can't leave for a day without total clapse and craziness. I have trained them and have given support to them and yet it seems, they still rely on me. I have to get out of this role and do things differently.

New Cards




Here are my latest cards. I really wish you could see the lighthouse card because the camera just does not do it justice. (the colors are all messed up..the purple looking dots are actually brown) I did it tonight when I got home from work and before we went out to eat. I think I found what I need to do...I have to buy matching papers. It seems my creativity blooms when I have several papers, which match each other.

Speaking of wishes...Tonight we went to Cancun and mommy and I gave little one some coins to throw into the fountain. Each time, I would say, "Make a wish." First wish, "I wish Bonnie was real." (Bonnie the stuffed rabbit) Second wish, "I wish Aunite was a stuffed animal." Third wish, "I wish I had ten bunk beds." Cute.

It is off to Archiver's we go!! Just as soon as the calendar comes up we can plan for our southside adventure...(Don't worry Judy, I will make sure we don't schedule it on a day which you will be out on spring break.)

Duh Moment


I can't believe it. I spent almost an hour getting an ad ready to sell on eBay. I finally get everything checked, double checked and submitted my first item. I felt pretty confident. (I may only make a dollar if the item sells but this is a learning experience.) Only when I decided to go look for my item did I see that I spelled the word wrong. Would you buy a pair of sandals from someone who spelled it like sandle?

UPDATE: Okay, I went in and changed the title. I just couldn't in my right mind leave it as is. I am uptight about things like that. So, I believe it might have cost me another 35 cents to correct it, which means I may make 65 cents if the item sells at reserve. LOTS OF LAUGHS!

Couple things I have done














I am very disappointed in how the pictures turned out but I don't want to mess with taking them again.

I made some St Patty's day surprises for my staff at work. I actually made the box the wrong direction so they are skinny instead of fat but, hey, it works...Also, after spending an afternoon finishing the project I realized that I am not even going to be at work on St Patty's day because I have a conference. Oh well...I am sure everyone will enjoy the chocolate in the boxes no matter what day it is.

The picture of the birthday card is one, which I made in the middle of the night last night when I couldn't sleep. YAWN....One of my employees is having a birthday this month and she loves pinks, browns and the retro colors. This girl is really unique in today's early twenty something world. She reminds me being the love child of 2 hippies. She shops from Goodwill for both home and clothing because she wants to, not because she has to. I love that.

Fraking Tired

I was up all night long. It could have been the storm, which raged on like an angry bee, it could have been because my mind wouldn't shut off...No, it was because I drank a glass of tea with my dinner. Now, my stomach is upset and I have a headache...**cry**

Loosen your grip and take a trip


I am going to be putting together a get away. Some place relaxing and enjoyable some place like.............................Greenwood, Indiana. Ah, I can see the place in sight right now... Bright lights, colored paper, ink, chalks, embellishments, magazines, stickers, the newest items money can buy. Yes, yes, can you feel it too? A place called Archiver's.

Looking for 2 (preferably) friends to join sister-in-law and myself for an afternoon of shopping and lunch on a Saturday. Might be after the 15th in April if my renter ever decides to pay me. Hopefully the trip can be scheduled before May. I will look at their calendar for April when they put it up to see what they have going on and then perhaps we can make way and escape for a few hours from our humble homes.

(Side note, I might stop and see parental units **I promise they will not be wearing their clown outfits** for a short visit as well...Or perhaps they could do lunch with us too...How about Steak 'N Ale?? YUMMY!)

I am thinking about going and getting a new cell phone...one which will take pictures. It is such a difficult decision for me because the phone I will get I must use for 2 WHOLE YEARS! How will I know what I want in a phone next month, let alone next year?! I know, it is a phone, what would you want in a phone except to talk to another person...I want it all. I love technology!

I am going to go have lunch with a friend today. We are going to UNO's and then to Border's for book shopping. I am SO LOOKING forward to it! WHOOT!

Computers are back up!

It is time to celebrate! Our computers at work finally came back up...almost 2 weeks later!!!! Hurray! I rang the bell so loud I bet the people on the 3rd floor above us heard it! Now it should only take me about 60-90 days to dig my way back out from all my work. I started a tunnel to get out today.

Okay, I sent my list to my mentor...now he wants me to put my descriptors in sentence form. I am sure what is coming next is I am going to have to journal the sentences using them as positive affirmations. I just can't wait.

Judy - My mentor is my work coach. I talk to him one time a week about work issues. He really helps me. I only have small breakdowns now instead of full blown ones daily...(HA HA) He is a work therapist...and my company agreed to pay him thousands of dollars for me to talk to him. I am so spoiled like that...(Smiles!) Are you going to Christine's on Thursday?

Met with mentor

I was in such a funk. He asked if I wanted to leave. "No, I want to work it out." I said.

I now have to write my ideal thoughts on what I think being a friend is, a daughter is, a sister is, etc...

I can't skip doing this because I have to EMAIL him with the results. Then my next homework assignment comes after I do this.

UGH! I know it is for a reason to grow and learn but this is going to be painful for me to do.

To Much Work


I think I am working to much. First I must say, I am NOT a drinker. I don't drink much alcohol at all...Not even once a year. But I have been working myself like a dog. Last night when I went to bed, I fell right to sleep. I woke up twice during the night and found each time I woke up that I was dreaming about drinking. Drinking...Why drinking? Should I start drinking? Is this what the dream is telling me?

Might Have Trouble Tonight

I have so much on my mind, I was afraid my mind wouldn't shut off...So I took 2 sleeping pills an hour and a half ago. I am still not tired. Normally, 1/2 of a pill puts me down. I just don't know what to do. I guess I should dream about girls day out on Saturday. I just hope my renters pulls through with some money or I won't go...I don't like to window shop. Pray I get some money or I will be really more depressed than I am already.

Another Red Letter Day

I surely can not have this much fun tomorrow as I did today. I should have counted how many times my employees called me. I turned my cell phone OFF around 2:30 pm. I had asked them to fax me orders. They were supposed to fax me questions, all laid out in form and yet, all day long, they called me. I finally just stopped answering the phone. What better way to teach them is by showing them first hand. It isn't like I didn't answer their faxes right away. Normally, within minutes I had answers completed and refaxed back to them. I looked at my cell phone and one person called at 3:29, 3:30, 3:31, 3:32, 3:33 and 3:45 but this went on like that all day long. I guess I have lots to train them on. Like, how to follow directions. The simplest tasks seem to throw them.

New Employee Left Alone

With everything going on at work, I have scheduled our new person to be ALONE on Monday for about an hour/hour and a half. She doesn't know this yet. One employee is out for the morning until 10:30 for a scheduled appointment. Another employee will come in, then leave at 9:00 for class and then come back in at 2:00. Another employee doesn't come in until late morning 11:00. Owner is out of town and won't be back until tomorrow and I am at home working due to the computers not working....and that leaves my new full time person alone for a short period of time. I am starting to pray right now that the phones will be kind and not ring during this time. I just might find myself short 1 person tomorrow if it is bad. That would be bad.

New Provider

I have a new provider arranged for our internet service and our telephone service. The issue I have is getting the service installed now versus the 30 day waiting period. The guy I have been working with tells me they are going to push for a 1-2 week time period and will waive the hundreds of dollars for the expediate fee. OMG..I think the owner of my company might come unglued when he finds out we have not had internet service for days and may not have internet service for several more days..if not weeks... You see, he is on a National Sales Meeting in the middle of the ocean and doesn't know what is going on. He comes back on Tuesday. It is my hope, we have an alternative situation up and running.

On a positive note, the painter (my friend Luci) painted another 2 rooms in our office and it looks so bright and cheerful. Maybe I should just paint myself the same color so I can be bright and cheerful...

Another Stressful Day

I went into my work today to see if our internet provider got our service up and running yet...and it wasn't running....I almost cried. I called them and they said, "Well, we aren't sure what else to do so we are going to refund your money." Although I appreciate the fact they are going to take care of refunding money without a fight, because it is the right thing to do, but I am extremely upset because we are left high and dry. This means, I will not be going back into work on Monday. My office will continue to limp through as it has been for the last few days. It has been so stressful. I don't know if my shoulders and neck is going to be able to take another long day sitting in front of my laptop. I feel like a prision at war. The other thing is I was supposed to have last Friday off and because of this situation I couldn't so I was supposed to have tomorrow (Monday) off and guess what...I can't because of the current situation. I am so frustrated!

I am not sleeping...I am resting my eyes








Love the non drowsy medication. Woke up 3 hours later after taking it with a sinus headache...LOL!!! I am coming to terms with the fact that my head problems must be stress related....hummmmm

After watching the Olympics, I think I might pick up a sport...I am thinking kick boxing...wouldn't that be fun to watch me do that?!?!

My renter had better cough up some green backs this week! I have a rubber stamp convention to attend! I might have to pretend that I have mastered the art of kick boxing if he doesn't come through for me. ./sfdal;0pasof OOOPS, sorry, I had to pick myself up from falling out of my chair because of the thought of me kick boxing made me laugh so hard I fell down.

Winter Carnival



After a stressful day I went to niece's school and I tied approx 150 balloons myself. We ended up doing 200 between my brother and I. My dad (the clown) made the animals for the children. It was a rocking good time. (LOL!) What better way to spend a Friday evening? I can't think of anything else I would have liked doing then helping out niece's school. She is what really is important and I want her to know she is worth the world to me...with my blisters and all.

How can one person be so stressed? I am still working at home and find it more stressful than if I were physcially at work. My head hurts and I am exhausted.

I had to work all morning long dealing with corporate America and our telephone service along with staff calling me every 2 seconds (not really but it seemed like it)...I wanted to scream.

I can't wait to discuss all this with my coach on Monday.

BAD DAY BAD DAY


Computers have been down at work for over 2 days now. You might think I would enjoy working from home but it SUCKS...because I get a call every minute with one of my employees asking me question...of course, I know they HAVE to call me because I am giving them price and delivery and putting their orders in for them...but I am really, really tired and I just want them to stop calling me. I can't even get to the bathroom and this isn't a good thing because I have the BIG D! On top of this, I get a call today from the owner of my company. He is on a business trip and missed his flight...I had to help him get reconnected. I have OEM customers calling me who waited to tell me they were OUT of their speciality motors. I am now pushing, calling and going nuts working with the factory to see what can be done to help them. Their production facility is SHUT DOWN. This means, employees don't work and don't get paid on top of not being able to meet their customers deliveries.... Did I also mention, I am working with finishing up construction in my office, and continue to lead staff into moving things around so the painters can finish painting...(We have been living in boxes for a month now because of constuction...it has been fun!) Let me see, what else....I am dealing with sore shoulders because my massage was cancelled and I really hurt. I am having to deal with the people who is working to get our internet back up. I am working on marketing blitz and updating records. I am working on switching telephone service and internet service and this should be done by month end. I also am taking bids on getting a new phone system for work. Also, taxes are due and I have to be finished and have everything updated and current to give to our accountant since our companies taxes are due March 15th...My renter is 2 months behind in paying and I am broke. I mean BROKE. I have had to pay the payments to avoid forclosure. I can't get payroll finished because I don't have interent at work and I can't do payroll from home because it takes a special program to do them....I have to have this done no later then tomorrow if we are going to be paid on time...tomorrow...which is supposed to be a day off from work for me. The last thing to whine about is at this very moment, I have cramps...This has been a bad bad day.

Shopping Today



I went shopping today. I could have spent $700 but only ended up spending $7. WOW what a big difference between the 2 amounts...But money is tight right now...Has been for since my renter is unable to pay me. It is crazy, most people would have thrown him out, but he is having a difficult time. His wife just left him for another man. Now he doesn't get to see his 4 kids. I know, I know, sad story... everyone has them but he has been really good about keeping me in the loop. He is self employed in the construction business and it has been really slow for him right now. He says it is only a matter of time when he will be able to get me caught up. He also calls and checks in with me and if I ask him to follow up with me on a particular day, he does it. So, I have been a little laxed with him and giving him the benefit of the doubt. If it continues through the busy season, which is during the summer, I am going to have to put the house up for sale and say bye bye to him. For now, I just pray he gets a few jobs to cover expenses. If anyone needs any type of construction bidded out, let me know. It would / could help all of us.

Back to shopping....If you haven't been to Archiver's in Southport, it is worth the trip. They have a huge store. We did a make and take today too. I will try to put up what we made later.

It Lives!


I have been without my computer! It is now that I am being able to write only because I am on my brothers computer downstairs in the basement while he is fixing mine....(Now one of the real reasons I am downstairs in the basement is because we have guest of the cruelest kind...MIL brought her mentally challenged friend)...I do pretty well with family joining us, hers, mine, others...Let's face it, I consider them part of my family and without family, where would I be or anyone else for that matter...However, with having a stressful day and then coming home to find the mentally challenged person following me from room to room and asking me question after question, and with niece crying and the MIL going into a diabetic sugar low thingy...It was just to much...I believe it was to much for the brother to as he was excited that my part came in so he could go downstairs and fix my computer. I also believe it was stressful and to much for the SIL...She escaped to give niece a bath upstairs...(Not that the niece didn't need a bath...She did...But luckily, it was a great excuse.) Hopefully in a matter of a few more minutes I will be able to surf and buy once again! WHOOT!!

BTW, I am not going to be able to go to the SU Party on the 23rd....We will be celebrating my moms birthday on Thursday night the 22nd and the 23rd they are coming up to go to the school carnival thingy. My dad is going to be part of the entertainment...He will be there making balloon animals and be dressed up as a clown. (He is a clown even if he isn't dressed up!) So if you go to Carey Ridge and see a rather tall looking man making balloons, go up to him and say "You're looking good!" It will be very funny because that is his normal verbiage whenever someone calls his home. He always using that sentence.

Work totally sucked today. I had 2 people off today and I ended up doing the customer service side of the business to help out. I really dislike that particular job. I really took my anger out on the owner of the company. I told him, "I don't want you to do anything but to listen to me so here goes...blah blah blah, bitch bitch bitch..." And this went on all day long. Later tonight when I was driving home, I called him and said, "I am much, much better now and thanks for letting me take out my frustration on you versus the customers". He said "At one point, I looked at Jeff and said, "I hope she is taking her frustration out on me and not the customers." However at the end of the day, he got a call from XYZ customer who bit half of his cheek off and said to him, "If it wasn't for "R" nothing would ever get done! She if FAB!" So he knew I didn't take my anger out on anyone and we laughed about it. Why would anyone doubt me? I just don't know. HA HA.

I have a new person starting Monday. I am really looking forward to having another person on board before Michael leaves us in May. Of course, I will have to train yet another person after he leaves but one down, one to go! (Michael is already a chemical engineer and went back to school to get his degree in law...Smart boy when it comes to technically aspect of the business but it takes him 45 minutes to complete a damn form...Which should take about 5-10 minutes. He has to think about what he is typing...One day I came in and he was reading the catalog and started asking me questions about what he read." I was like..."WHAT???? I appreciate the time to get to know the product but that order, which was placed will not get entered unless you do it and it has nothing to do with reading our catalog!" Of course I didn't put it in those words but you get my drift here...

Does everyone know I am a TAC demonstrator? I will be placing an order before the end of the month and anyone who wants to order with my discount you can...Let me know SOON and I mean VERY SOON!

Expensive Babysitting Job


My next task is to hold employees accountable for what they are responsible for. As I have staff going through the desk of fired employee, it has been found she didn't do what she was supposed to be doing. Now I ask, and I need some input... How can I make sure employees are doing what they are supposed to be doing without actually babysitting them?....Without looking over their shoulder all the time. The fact of the matter is, I don't have time to do that and my work load too. So I could give up some work of my own to babysit but I would become a very expensive babysitter. I am clueless as to what to do and how to handle.

FINALLY


At last, it has happened. Difficult employee is GONE. I am happy to report my next phase of management is now on it way. I have to use the thousand of dollars spent towards my training and put it to good use. Weird about her being let go. She acted like it was coming, which it was but we had to cross all out t's and dot all of our i's not to get sued. Another employee stated she had another job lined up. Good for her. I wish her next employer much luck.

Update

I was feeling better for about 2 days, however my sore throat and cough has come back to me. WHY? I am very mad about it...Anyway, I came home early from work tonight and went to bed. Got up around 8 and watched Battlestar Galitica...Me, my brother and SIL have been caught up in the story now. This is kind a weird thing for me to watch but I got sucked in. Last night I watched like 4 or 5 Project Runway shows back to back on Bravo...now that I can see myself watching Project Runway but the Battlestar stuff has me worried that I might be a bigger geek then I knew about.

News on the employee! It is official from the owner, owner states employee is done, terminated, fired. Here is an email I got from employee today when I came in...(BTW, employee has craziness in life...every single month some kind of craziness happen..in fact, on Monday, employee was late to work because car would not start, then late coming back in from lunch because another car ran into her and her hubcap exploded..on top of this, last Friday another car ran into her, which caused employee to be late coming in from lunch...) Anyway, here is the email:

Good Morning. I came in this morning to get a couple of things completed. I must go
back home to care for my son. He is immobile at the present time and needs his mothers care. (Hopefully he is still sleeping and not sitting in the couch having to pee right now)

It will take a day or so for him to get the confidence to try to attempt the crutches which is fine with the DR because this was traumatic for my son.

I understand that I need to be here and plan to try to find someone he can be with tomorrow. I suggested he stay with your wife for the day) hoping she wouldn't mind, but he wasn't very comfortable with leaving the house yet. I will call this afternoon to let you know what I have arranged.

Soap Box

I was watching t.v. and found out Justin Timberlake (Boy band N'Sync guy) got a $30,000.00 pair of sunglasses for free at the Sundance Festival. I also heard some famous people getting thousands of dollars worth of free stuff. One gal got a $18,000.00 purse. I was like, WTF? These people get paid more than they should, and on top of that, they are getting thousands of dollars worth of merchandise for free...it really ticked me off because I have been sick and it has cost me hundreds of dollars this weekend and I DON'T HAVE IT ($$) to spare. The good news, and I say, "Thank you to God", is I have enough frozen foods to last me this week for lunch and dinner." I just was livid about how unfair it seems.

What do I need to learn?


I have been taking my medication as the doctor ordered and yet, I am still NOT well. In fact, my nose is starting to run again, and my throat is a total mess and even worse and on top of that...The meds are giving me the BIG D! So I called into the doctors office today and told them. 3 hours later they called stating, "Well the meds you are on will cause you to have the big D so eat some yogurt with live cultures....And take some over the counter meds for the big D". If this doesn't work, I will need to come in for a recheck.

OMG....I don't know if I can go through another round of not sleeping tonight. I am really sick of watching Roseanne. I just want to sleep during sleeping hours like everyone else.

I am asking myself what do I need to learn from this and what is my body trying to say. The main thing which continues to come back to me is I have to start speaking my mind. Maybe getting what is on my mind out will keep this illness from attacking my throat and body. Weird? Definitely...But I think I am going to give it a try and with this said, I think I might be getting fired soon.

What is that saying?


What is that saying, "While the cat is away, the mice will play." Is that the correct saying? I have issues with getting saying mixed up....Anyway, this is an email I received today from one of my employees:

I am writing in regard to a certain person’s work habits, because I feel it is adversely affecting the work environment here. XXXXX’s work breaks are getting outrageous. It’s not that I want you to come down hard on her/him or anything, but it’s affecting the work place. XYZ customer called for XXXXX at least three times today. Twice while XXXXX was on a close to hour-and-a-half lunch break and once while XXXXX was in the bathroom. I think XXXXX does a great job here, and she/he is very generous to us all, picking up food for us (for example). She does his/her share while he/she is here, but it’s getting to be hard with him/her gone so much. Can you please gently let XXXXX know that it would help us all if he/she wasn’t gone so often for so long? It’s not like he/she eats his/her lunch on the hour that he/she is gone to pick up his/her daughter and takes a fifteen minute break in the morning. He/She was gone almost a total of 2 ½ hours today. It’s just frustrating to me, but maybe I’m over-reacting.

I know XXXXX has some long days here, so I do recognize that his/her breaks should exceed some others. For instance, my breaks don’t need to exceed 30 min, because I’m only here maybe 7hrs a day on average. In short, he/she has a right to more or longer breaks, but two hour-and-fifteen min breaks seems like a lot. Plus, we all have to schedule our breaks around his/her two breaks.

Sorry if this is annoying you on your sick time off. I just felt I should address the issue since it is bothering me so much.

Some Better Tonight

I stopped wheezing and can breathe. That is the WOREST experience I have ever had in my entire life. I was so scared. I didn't know if I fell asleep if I would choke to death so I stayed up the entire night and watched Roseanne on the tube. All night long I watched reruns..like 10 of them because I was afraid I was going to die. I was so tired, I thought I might die so I kept my eyes open. It was horrible. I pray no one has to go through what I did with not being able to breathe. Now I am just dealing with a sore throat, congested nose, ears hurting, head hurting and hot and cold chills...I can DEAL with all of this and all is well knowing it is going to be okay as long as I can breathe!

Quick Trip To Urgent Care Facility

Almost died tonight.

Could not breathe...Luckily brother was up and heard me and he was very sweet and took me to the urgent care facility.

It seems I have caught EVERYTHING. You name it. I got it.

I will not be going to my training classes now. I will be staying home and in bed for the next 2 days. Doctors Orders!

I sure hope the $1,500 is refundable or transferable.

Sick of being sick!

I told myself I would not get sick and it snuck up on me! Darn it all...I just hate having a sinus infection!!!!! It seems I get this every year and I am just sick of it!

I am off work for the next couple days...Well kind of, I am going to training for the next 2 days. I was really excited about it until I found out there would only be 12 of us and most of the people coming were high executives from top 500 companies. What is little ole me going to be able to associate with these people? My life coach (who will be there and recommended me into going) thinks I have much to offer. He said, most of these people in these high profile jobs are in the same place regarding work issues as I am. I was dumbfounded. How could these educated people be in the same place I am....Makes me wonder about people graduating from collages who should be. I am not saying I am stupid but how can a person run a 500 company and have my same issues when I run a 6 man operation? Shouldn't these people be more educated than this? Or am I missing the boat.

Will let you know how it turns out tomorrow...Until then, it is time for me to take meds!

Today is January 22, 2006 and this is the last day, I am going to take any disrespect from any one.

Tunnel Vision

The words “Tunnel Vision” was used in my household today so I decided to do some research.

Some people equate tunnel vision with the saying about not seeing the forest for the trees. A person with tunnel vision is so zoned-in on one thing he doesn’t see much else. His eyes are fixed on a single object. He doesn’t notice other things. He is distracted from distraction. He is isolated in isolation. He is shut off from other facts by fixation on a single fact he believes so important that all else recedes in the darkness of self-imposed selective ignorance.

As a consequence, persons with tunnel vision see only the light at the end of the tunnel, disregarding the tunnel walls that keep the massive weight of the outside world from caving in on them.

People with tunnel vision see the light and may be drawn to it without realizing that safely reaching the light depends on the integrity and strength of tunnel walls within the darkness, walls that make the journey out of darkness possible.

Are we today foolish crawling through the tunnel of life with no concern for the structure that prevents the world from caving in on us and not seeing the light around us? We see the light but do we ignore the danger lurking in darkness of the tunnel?

Perhaps we need to more closely examine the intricate structure that keeps us safe in this present dangerous hour. Or are we too focused on the way of escape for ourselves individually?

Are we ignoring our responsibility to love the children who must crawl along behind us through this dangerous tunnel, threatened by the weakness of timbers and beams and are we are refusing to repair as we scramble to deliver our individual selves from the darkness?

Are we abandoning our responsibility to make the tunnel safer for the children by ignoring our present problems? Are we getting through the tunnel on our own, while refusing to participate in the process of making the tunnel stronger for those who must follow after us?

Are we relying on our own strength and wisdom to find our way out of darkness guided only by a light in the distance as our children venture more deeply into danger we refuse to repair?

Where would we be if the walls caved in? Where will our children be if the walls cave in? Who is working to strengthen the walls? Who will replace the rotting timbers we ignore in our selfish quest for light. Who is going to strengthen the tunnel so others can make their way safely from darkness into light?

How long can we remain in this present darkness before the walls cave in on us?

Pointing to the light ahead is good. We must never lose sight of the light. Let us see the light clearly and never lose sight of its promise. However let us not forget about the darkness and what it holds for us and others.

Make the journey safe for others, not just for ourselves.

Update For Judy On So Tired Entry

I walked in at 9:30 and said "Good Morning" without giving any excuses or lies. (Of course my hair was still wet and I my eyes were puffy so I am sure they all knew what had happened.)

I thought about writing myself up and placing the warning in my personal file but I thought to myself, "Judy is right, I HAD to get some sleep and I work myself like a dog around here." So I didn't. (smiles)

Luckily, the owner knows me and knows the kind of hours I put in so other than being concerned for me, he would never condemn me for oversleeping. (Unless the office wasn't staffed...That would not have been good.) Otherwise, the owner is good to me and it is one of the reasons why I have a love/hate relationship with my job. I hate it, but you gotta love it too. *sigh*

Teen Star Gone Bad



I was scanning the news tonight when I found a story about a guy going into rehab. The name sounded very familiar to me so I googled him. WOW was I surprised! The picture of the man they had shown in the news article wasn't at all anything like I remembered. He was originally a former teen beat favorite and I had a poster of him in my bedroom when I was young. I remember then I used to have this young man's 8 track tape and it made me laugh because it reminded me of how old I am. Then I wondered what the heck happened to him? He looks like he has been beaten and been through hell and back. I guess drugs will do that to a person.

I hope all my prescription drugs don't make me look like that in a few years. I will be really mad because I spent a lot of money on cosmetics and personal hygiene products.

So Tired


Today I was late for work! I have been working late this week and found myself dead dog tired this week...I didn't wake up until 1/2 hour after I was supposed to be at work! I didn't hear my alarm and I didn't hear the two calls my phone received before 8 a.m. When I woke up it was completely day light. I was freaked! I just can't wait for the weekend. I am hoping I will get some rest and relaxation! Here is hoping!!!

Interview, Job Offer and Firing


The redneck interviewed with the owner and he said, "I don't think she is a good fit". "Why?" I asked and he told me. His thoughts were the same as my thoughts...scarey.

Speaking of interviews...I had a job offer today. Fell from the sky. I am not looking but it was nice to hear. I always tell the owner too when it happens...Which is about 2 times a year. I have to keep his memory sharp and open to the possibility that others want me...Just in case he forgets what he has in me. (Lots of laughs!)

I have to fire another employee by end of February. I was told to get it done. This person is not working out. Owner wants this person terminated. I have to do it and I know it isn't going to be pretty. I have to call the police department to have them around the area the day I do it. I just can't wait.

Revenge is SWEEEEETTT!!


I am a very bad girl.

First I should explain about the owner of my company. He is a very busy man.

Today he overstepped a decision I had made and needless to say, I was pissed. So I am taking revenge.

I interviewed a red neck girl who was referred to me. This red neck girl was nice enough but she "ain't got no problems other than her ex stalking her, destroying her home, cutting phone lines and just plain won't leave her be". Also, she had to quit her last job because he was causing troubles for her there. She spoke about her ex the entire time she was in my office. She has no hobbies or anything to speak of...Only her ex and she wants this job so she can run from him so he can't find her and their 2 children. Oh, and she would have to be off one day this month because she is taking him to court and "hopefully the law will put him away for good this time". Okay, can you say excess baggage?

There is no way I would hire this girl...But...Since she was referred to me by someone the owner knows...And I am pissed...I passed her to the owner for consideration and an interview. When I called her today she literally screamed "SWEEEEETTT!!!" on the phone when I asked her to come in on Monday for a second interview.

I am so bad....And I sure hope Karma doesn't bite me on this one....

It is Judy's fault

Thanks to Judy I have some lovely new stamps coming in from Stampin Up! I need more stamps like Stephanie needs paper...*ha ha*...Okay, so I need to make something with the stamp set(s) which I bought. Hum. Think, Think, Think. I think I got it! I think I will send Judy a card that say's "Thanks Judy for feeding my addiction!" I just love friends who care.

PRAYER ANSWERED!

Now I would not call myself "religious" but I would 100% say I am a spiritual person...My life coach yesterday told me to start looking for God in what I do. He wasn't aware that I was looking for this paper..He just wanted me to concentrate on the good, which happens in my life..Today was a HELL DAY! It seems any time I am off, even for a few short hours...Work falls apart. Now, I am not just saying this to pat myself on the back because owner actually said it today too...And it is true. I guess I am the glue which holds this company together...Anyway, back to my story...I was quite upset because I can certainly tell everyone that I didn't see him much of God's hands in anything at all today. But tonight...MY PRAYER HAS BEEN ANSWERED! I found that paperwork I have been so desperately been looking for. I jumped up and down and shouted "God has shown himself to me!"

I am hiding my head under the sink

Went to the knitting store and teacher got me back where I needed to be. So I was off and running like a pro with my scarf. My next count I had 1 to many, the next count I had 2 to many. I started to sweat so I decided to see if I could fix. My next count I had 4 to many. So I thought keep going see if you can fix it. Now I have 6 or more to many...I think I will go put my head under the kitchen sink and hide for awhile.

Upsetting News


1. I deleted a large file I had created with part numbers for a large customer. This was a file I used personally almost every day, but now I have to start back to square one and rebuild the Access file.

2. One of my employees who has recently been written up for attendance had her boyfriend call her in sick today. I am not saying she wasn't sick, it is the fact that she had her boyfriend call her in after she was already on probation. I don't know if this means I have to fire her or not. I am very upset about having to fire her. What about the FMLA? I am waiting to hear about the regulations I must follow.

3. The scarf I was knitting looks like crap. I did something to the stitches and I don't know how to fix it. I am at a loss as to what to do with the scarf at this point. I am extremely depressed.

4. I have to work on a Saturday. I know, millions of people do but it really sucks to put in over 40 hours this week and have to go in. Did I mention I don't get paid to work extra?

That is it for now. I am tired of typing all the bad. I have lots of good things which happened today but I am choosing to post only the negative. Bah Hum Bug...

I would have been mad at me

The owner of the company was looking and looking and looking....no kidding...for some paperwork on a client, which he swore he placed on my desk. Well, I had NONE of that! I actually cleaned my desk up (first time in about a year) and I was like, "No, I don't think so..." (Note: I didn't really say this but it was in my head swimming around.) So we looked on everyone's desk. We looked in his office. We looked in all the filing cabinets but no luck. I was just sure we would have found it amongst his things...low and behold....I had them on top of my desk the entire time. I would have been so mad at me if I were him and he didn't seem mad at all...I went in and said, "I am so sorry. I had the paperwork the entire time. I am so very sorry." He forgave me and that was that.

Note to self: Remember not to be so hard on the dear old man the next time he does something which chaps my ass.

On another note...I went to my first knitting class tonight. It was a bit stressful for me since I am an A type individual who is extremely hard on anything creative I do....but I have all week to practice and the teacher told me if I had any problems to come in and someone would help me. I told her I would hold her to that! Will post pictures as I go later!!

Micro Management

I came in early today to get a heads start at work. Guess what I came into? The owner of the company re-organized my desk! Why? Why? I get SO ANGRY at him for doing things like this. He is such a micromanager and it drives me to want to drink...Something more than coke! If you were to see his office you would think, why in the world would he be doing this little task and not bother with his own! I have a few ideas...His world is so crazy and life such a mess that he doesn't want to take the time to do his own work. So he goes through each of our desk here at the office so that he doesn't have to do his own. Maybe he doesn't know where to began with his own...I don't know. I know, however that it pisses me off to come in to have to re-organize my own work before I can even began to start. It takes so much time and energy.

I am so happy to be back to work today. Can't you tell?

Time For Changes

This year I am planning on changing one thing a month. My goal is to do SOMETHING different every month. I am going to do something creative to nurish my soul. I am going to stop a negative thought in my head before it gets out of control. I am going to clean out my desk at work. (This might freak out the owner..ha ha) I think if at the end of 2006, I can look back and see the changes I made, I will feel better about how I spent my time here on earth. Also, what a great feeling to know I had accomplished xy and z this past year.

Here is to us! My wish for everyone is happiness, peace and health!
