Work and tudes for me to remember
Coughed my head off like a fool last night, however I NEVER choked! I was quite pleased with the amount of sleep I had gotten. If I had to guess I would say it would be about 4-5 hours total. It wasn't uninterrupted sleep because of the coughing but it was SLEEP never less and I was excited about it! So this morning I got up and took my shower planning on working. After my shower I was completely exhausted! So I text messaged the owner of my company and said I needed to take a short rest and then would be in. Just now, at 11:33 a.m. I woke up. It felt SO GOOD to sleep. I haven't sleep for more then 30-45 minutes at a time since last Thursday! I am a renewed person.
Yesterday SIL dad and grandmother came for a visit. I would describe her grandmother extremely wise. I love hearing her speak about the ways of the world. Her grandmother reminded me with what she was saying that I was protected. So last night I prayed asking for protecting. Each time I woke up coughing I gave thanks for not losing my breath. I wish I could remember to use protection all the time. The other thing she discussed was attitude and gratitude. She said those were her tudes she liked. I would have to agree with her. It was so great to see her and I know it was what I needed to hear and remember. Thanks Eleanor!

Geocaching

We got up this morning and went geocaching. The first one we went to was pretty easy to find and then decided to move to another one in the woods. We walked and walked in the woods up and down. It felt good to be out and about although I totally exhausted myself due to my cold. I wasn't used to doing much in these last few days and should not have done as much as I did. My family thinks I should stay home from work another day but I am itching to get back in to start getting back to "normal", if there is such a thing. After tomorrow night I am sure I will be itching to take time off.
Hope everyone is having a good weekend.
2:30 am
When I was young, this time of morning would be okay to be awake but being 40 years old, this time is NOT acceptable. I do have to say, I did get some sleep tonight. "Some" being the word of the moment since the last few nights have not been good. Let me think, I believe I got to sleep almost 2 full hours without waking up being choked by my cold. The night time is not a good time for me. If you are speaking with me during the day you wouldn't have any idea that my cold comes back to life at night. So weird to me.

More than 10 minutes
I just had my first more than 10 minutes sleep! I would say it was an hour to an hour and a half! This is great news! I tried sleeping both in my room and on both couches but to no prevail so I decided to try downstairs in the theater room chairs and it worked!! I didn't wake up trying to catch my breath or anything and I think I may have found my place to get some rest...The only problem is I woke up and I was absoutely freezing...To the point of being numb...I will definately have to work on that but being cold beats the heck out of not being able to breath and sleep.
Bad Night
It sucks to be sick. I was up all night, well almost all night. I slept, I would guess, an hour maybe 2 at the most. At one point I thought I would have to wake up my household to take me to ER or even call 911. I couldn't breathe and I was wheezing trying to get a breath. That is the worst feeling one could ever experience I think. So I went downstairs and sat on the couch. I ended up falling asleep on the couch sitting up and when I woke up I was clutching the remote control extremely hard. I haven't ever sleep sitting up for any extended time and my lower back hurt. I remember watching a TV show on national geographic called Taboo. The first show was about the Chinese people who go to major extremes to grow. (This is happening in today's society.) They saw their bones in their legs in half and then place these awful, metal, torture looking things on their legs and what happens is the bones start regrowing between the 2 bones and if I remember right, you keep turning the screws to have the bones grow more. One girl had 4 inches added to her height. After over a year, you have the metal rods removed, which have been screwed into your bones. The other show was about female body builders. Everyone looked like men because they all took hormone shots. No thank you I say to both of these. Very interesting show though. I would watch the show again however I hope it is never under the same circumstances.

quickbooks
I need help. I realize I need to make a journal entry, however having troubles deciding what the best route is...Here is the deal. In April, instead of deducting my 401K money from my check, I added and credited myself with the money. (NOT GOOD!) Now, I did not do this on purpose mind you and I need help getting this corrected! Does anyone know much about quickbooks? Since the money is coming from payroll and there are taxes involved, it isn't easy for me to understand how or what I need to do to get the error fixed. What has happened is I owe $150 to this account because it has deducted the payment from another employees contribution! ACK! I have been messing with this for way to long and need to get this corrected. I would ask the accountant but she moved to California and we don't communicate well long distance so I want to leave her out of it! Anyone have any ideas?
Picture # 2

I am posting the picture of this dog today for a particular reason. I woke up late, or later than I normaly do and came into work with wet hair and no makeup. I believed my choices were either a shower and no makeup and hair done or sponge bath with makeup and hair done. I decided I would rather be very clean and no make up with hair wet. There is just something about the water, soap and a shower, which helps me feel better about the day. When I got about 5 minutes from my destination, I realized I had 15 minutes to spare! I could have at least painted my face. On top of having mucho minutes, I just realized I left without earrings too. God help me.

Why Dogs Bite Picture # 1

Things are depressing where I am right now so when this came across my email, it put a smile on my face. I hope if you are having a bad day, this will also cheer you up.
This is first of many of the dog pictures sent to me. I thought it was extremely cute. I can only imagine what this little dog is thinking. This little doggie's eyes say it all really. It really made me laugh. More pictures of “Why dogs bite” will forthcoming at a later date.

Tuesday Morning Blues

It is raining it is pouring, I am going to be sitting at my desk snoring. Everything is changing for me. I am not sure if it is good or bad but I know it is definitely going to be different. If I can get through the massive depression I am experiencing I would feel differently about what is happening in my world however as of right now, things are looking pretty bleak.

Watering your African violet

The 3 big 'NEVERS':
Never water from above.
Never water without first sticking your finger in the soil.
Never water with cold water straight from the tap.
Good tricks:
After you finish watering your plants, fill up the watering can and let it sit (for a few days until you are ready to water again). Then the water is at room temperature and ready to go. Also, there has been plenty of time for the chlorine and fluoride to evaporate out of the water.
Every few days stick your finger in the soil of each plant. If the soil sticks to your finger and feels damp, the plant is O.K. If the soil crumbles away easily and doesn't feel damp, it's time to water again.
Always use a watering can with a small spout:
Two watering methods are recommended:
Individual saucer method:
If your African violet pot is sitting in a nice deep saucer, fill up the saucer until the water is well above the bottom of the pot.
Let it sit for about an hour. After an hour, if there is still water above the level of the bottom of the pot, take the pot out of the saucer, pour the water out of the saucer, and return the pot to the saucer.
Big tray method:
Find a big deep tray or rectangular roasting pan. Put all of your African violet plants in the tray. Fill the tray with water. Let the plants sit in the tray for an hour. Remove and put back in their normal spots.
How often you water depends on what Type of flower pot you are using, and how much light your plant is getting. If your plant gets very little light, and lives in a plastic pot, it will need to be watered less often than a plant getting lots of light that lives in an unglazed ceramic pot.

Am I a Nerd?
The geocaching thing...I didn't win anything. We signed our name in the log with the date and time. That was all. It was a fun hour spent walking, spending time with the family outside and searching for something...Not sure exactly what we are looking for is half the fun. I read once the best family time is spent outside so this was a good way to spend time, in nature doing something together. Am I a nerd? If you want to call me a nerd, that is okay, because I enjoyed doing it. Also, we are setting up our own hunt too and eventually I want to do a travel bug.
What is a Travel Bug?
Simply put, a Travel Bug is a trackable tag that you attach to an item. This allows you to track your item on Geocaching.com. The item becomes a hitchhiker that is carried from cache to cache (or person to person) in the real world and you can follow its progress online.
What does a Travel Bug do?
It's really up to the owner of the bug to give it whatever task they desire. Or no task at all. The fun of a travel bug is inventing new goals for the Travel Bug to achieve. One Bug's goal may be to reach a specific country, or travel to 10 countries.
How do Travel Bugs work?
Each Travel Bug has its own unique tracking number stamped on it. This tracking number is used as proof by the user that they found the item. It also doubles as a way for the user to locate the personal web page for the travel bug.
Travel Bugs are tracked with the help of users who go online and "grab" them from caches, or receive them from users. The idea is by picking up and dropping off Travel Bugs on the web site you are mirroring the Bug's real world adventures. Each Travel Bug has its own "diary" that follows its movements.
I can't wait to start one!

Geocaching

Sun morning we went on our first outing scouting for cache (treasure hunt). We all searched and searched and I was the one who ended up finding (picture above). I thought it was pretty fun, which is unusual for me because I was sitting on the ground at times searching. What where we searching for?? We didn't know, which made it even more difficult. It took over an hour but in the end, I liked it and would definitely do it again! Want more information? Go to www.geocaching.com. It is a great, cheap thing to do as a family and these hidden treasures are all over the world. Sometimes you leave your name in a log, sometimes you take a gift from the treasure and leave a gift for the next person who finds the treasure.

Pat yourself on the back!
Thanks to Sue for sending this one. It is a good one.
Congratulations TO ALL THE KIDS WHO WERE BORN IN THE 1930's, 40's, 50's, and 60's !!
First, we survived being born to mothers who smoked and/or drank while they carried us.
They took aspirin, ate blue cheese dressing, tuna from a can, and didn't get tested for diabetes.
Then after that trauma, our baby cribs were covered with bright colored lead-based paints.
We had no childproof lids on medicine bottles, doors or cabinets and when we rode our bikes, we had no helmets, not to mention, the risks we took hitchhiking.
As children, we would ride in cars with no seat belts or air bags.
Riding in the back of a pick up on a warm day was always a special treat.
We drank water from the garden hose and NOT from a bottle.
We shared one soft drink with four friends, from one bottle and NO ONE actually died from this.
We ate cupcakes, white bread and real butter and drank soda pop with sugar in it, but we weren't overweight because......WE WERE ALWAYS OUTSIDE PLAYING!!
We would leave home in the morning and play all day, as long as we were back when the streetlights came on.
No one was able to reach us all day. And we were O.K.
We would spend hours building our go-carts out of scraps and then ride down the hill, only to find out we forgot the brakes. After running into the bushes a few times, we learned to solve the problem.
We did not have Playstations, Nintendo's, X-boxes, no video games at all, no 99 channels on cable, no video tape movies, no surround sound, no cell phones, no personal computers, no Internet or Internet chat rooms........ .WE HAD FRIENDS and we went outside and found them!
We fell out of trees, got cut, broke bones and teeth and there were no lawsuits from these accidents.
We ate worms and mud pies made from dirt, and the worms did not live in us forever.
We were given BB guns for our 10th birthdays, made up games with sticks and tennis balls and although we were told it would happen, we did not put out very many eyes.
We rode bikes or walked to a friend's house and knocked on the door or rang the bell, or just yelled for them!
Little League had tryouts and not everyone made the team. Those who didn't had to learn to deal with disappointment. Imagine that!!
The idea of a parent bailing us out if we broke the law was unheard of. They actually sided with the law!
This generation has produced some of the best risk-takers, problem solvers and inventors ever!
The past 50 years have been an explosion of innovation and new ideas.
We had freedom, failure, success and responsibility, and we learned HOW TO DEAL WITH IT ALL!
And YOU are one of them!
CONGRATULATIONS!
You might want to share this with others who have had the luck to grow up as kids, before the lawyers and the government regulated our lives for our own good. While you are at it, forward it to your kids so they will know how brave their parents were.
Kind of makes you want to run through the house with scissors, doesn't it?!

September 8
You know it isn't a good day when you can't seem to spell the month. I woke up with a sinus headache today! *ARG!* Feeling some better now that I ate a bagel and had some strong coffee. I am afraid I am getting addicted to the coffee at Java Junction. It is really, really tasty and you just can't make this type of coffee at home or at work. No matter how many times I have tried to make a pot of coffee here at work, it fails. I haven't tasted doggie doo but have a feeling the coffee I make at work might be a close second.

Cruel
Is someone playing a cruel joke on me? I looked at the clock earlier and it said it was after 2 p.m. I just now looked again and it is showing 1:05 p.m. That is cruelty at it’s finest!
As one of my all time favorite characters said: “I am just so darn bored! There ain’t an in-flight movie or nothing!” Anyone guess who said that?

Lunch Out
I went and had lunch with the birthday girl, Stephanie today. She, Judy and I met at Boston Market. BTW, Judy, I believe I owe you for my part of Stephanie's lunch! Anyway, it was so nice to get out of the office for an hour. Okay, an hour and 15 minutes! You caught me!
At any rate, SIL and I gave Stephanie scrapbooking supplies. I really thought they were cute. I think Judy covet them too. I am looking forward to seeing some pages completed with those STEPHANIE! With that new camera, you better go and take some new pictures so you can use those supplies!
So like I said, it was Stephanie's birthday but I GOT THE GOODIES! Remember that stamp set opened by the building owner....and has never made it back to me!? Well, Ms Judy gave me her set! She said she didn't use them any longer and was going to get rid of them! BTW Judy I am ready to take on being your personal assisant for the ebay items....bring it on girl! Judy totally rocks! I am excited about those stamps and with her giving them to me, I will now have to make her a thank you card.
Hope everyone is having a good day. I am counting down the minutes to go home...I still have several more hours to go...*ugh*

Things to say to those men who are annoying.
I have seen some of these before, however they are good so decided to share with everyone. Thanks to my mom for sending it to me.
HE: Can I buy you a drink?
SHE: Actually I'd rather have the money.
HE: I'm a photographer. I've been looking for a face like yours.
SHE: I'm a plastic surgeon. I've been looking for a face like yours.
HE: Hi. Didn't we go on a date once? Or was it twice?
SHE: Must've been once. I never make the same mistake twice.
HE: How did you get to be so beautiful?
SHE: I must've been given your share.
HE: Will you go out with me this Saturday?
SHE: Sorry. I'm having a headache this weekend.
HE: Your face must turn a few heads.
SHE: And your face must turn a few stomachs.
HE: Go on, don't be shy. Ask me out.
SHE: Okay, get out.
HE: I think I could make you very happy.
SHE: Why? Are you leaving?
HE: What would you say if I asked you to marry me?
SHE: Nothing. I can't talk and laugh at the same time.
HE: Can I have your name?
SHE: Why? Don't you already have one?
HE: Shall we go see a movie?
SHE: I've already seen it.
HE: Where have you been all my life?
SHE: Hiding from you.
HE: Haven't I seen you some place before?
SHE: Yes. That's why I don't go there anymore.
HE: Is this seat empty?
SHE: Yes, and this one will be too if you sit down.
HE: So, what do you do for a living?
SHE: I'm a female impersonator.
HE: Hey baby, what's your sign?
SHE: Do not disturb.
HE: Your body is like a temple.
SHE: Sorry, there are no services today.

Stamp Set

Here is the stamp set I paid $2.50 for....Originally I posted $2.00 but when I looked back it was $2.50...Anyway, I still do not have these in my hands yet! The person who has them in his presence is a very busy man.....These are his jobs that I know of:
1. Takes kids to school and picks them up
2. Owns several buildings (rentals)
3. Over the police department in the town
4. Runs an agency for special security (He told me, among other things, he does business with the D. Trump man...I don't know if I should believe him or not....)
5. Was asked to be in REO Speedwagon's band when they hit big in the 70-80's (The wife said "Why are you telling these things??" So I am not sure about that one either.)
He is something else!! You never know what is going to come out of his mouth and what to believe when it does but he is really fun...The last thing I can say is he is always and I mean always late. Sometimes a day late, sometimes a few hours late and sometimes he just never shows and forgets. I am afraid he is going to forget that he has my stamps. I have told his cleaning crew the story about him thinking I sent him the stamps (she laughed too) and she said she would remind him. I also have the maintenance man of this building reminding him as well as my boss. Surely, between all of us I will get my stamp set back before they disappear for good.
Dinner Doritos Duartes

Everyone knows I ate dinner at the Duarte's on Saturday night. The big, million dollar question would be, "What did you eat?" Well, it was quite a night! We both coudn't decide if we wanted to eat in or eat out. I didn't care either way so we decided to eat in and start the movie a little earlier. So we had sandwiches. Now this isn't your every day sandwich. This was Laurie Duarte Doritos sandwich!! She showed me how she makes it and I will share the receipe with you right now.
1. Get 2 pieces of bread (sounds normal)
2. Spread mayo (still normal)
3. Add meat (I choose turkey)
4. Add cheese (if desired)
5. Add lettuce (if desired)
6. Grap as many doritos your hand will hold and mash them palms down into your sandwich. (yes you read correctly)
7. Repeat number 6
8. Repeat number 6
9. Yes, repeat number 6 (AGAIN!)
10. Place bread on top of doritos.
It is important to mash them prior to placing the bread on top, I was instructed, otherwise the doriots would poke out of the bread. (this isn't a good thing)
Also, if the doritos fall out of the sandwich, just poke them back in!
I have attached a picture of Laurie's sandwich. I hope each of you will try this at one time or another. I should have put a little more mayo on mine, otherwise it was pretty darn good sandwich!
If you have receipes you would like to share with my readers, please feel free to do so....LOL

I am not ignoring anyone
We all have been sick off and on this past weekend....The only person who hasn't been affected is the little one (thank goodness)...I do think everyone is on the mend.

Dinner Saturday Nite
I am going to talk about my dinner at the Duarte's house next. Boy do they know how to treat a girl! I will talk about it later. Going down to see what is happening with my own family.
This is Christopher Dylan

I call him Dylan but I am confused at times because he goes by both names. (Don't let the confusion full you, I am confused most of the times anyway.) Dylan is the baby boy of the family. He has the sweetest grin you would ever want to see. When I got my camera out, he shined and asked me to take a picture of him. What a ham! The girls are going to fall hard when he gets older.
Serena

This is Laurie's middle child. Serena is the cutest thing! She has freckles around her nose and on her cheeks. She is very sweet and who could not love a little girl who knows how to play hard with the boys! I love her sweet little personality and they way she cuddles right up next to you when you are sitting next to her. She also has beautiful hair. I used to have the same color hair when I was little and I want it back! My hair dresser refused to let me color my hair so dark but I love dark hair. I might have to buy a bottle and do it myself.
Marissa

I sure hope I am spelling this name correctly....This is my friend Laurie's daughter. She is the eldest of her 3. She is such a beautiful girl! The first time I saw her, I thought she looked like someone famous. If I remember correctly (I have forgotten to take my Ginko for the last 2 days...) SIL thought she looked like she was someone famous too or maybe she could be famous.... I think this little girl could go far in life in show business if she so wanted to.
Stayin Alive - Week 2

My friend Kathleen gave me a violet and also some very lovely earrings for my birthday. The reason why I am showing this picture is I will continue to take pictures of the plant just to see how long it will take for me to kill it. Not on purpose mind you, but I just don't seem to have a green thumb. This makes the second week I have had the plant and there still seems to have some blooms on it. I tested the soil and the soil felt dry so I watered it. So week 2...Plant still alive.
This is my friend Laurie

The picture I have posted is not a rat's nests, it is actually the back of Laurie's head. She didn't want me to take a picture of her so this is the best she would let me do. I appreciated that she let me do this!
So I went to her new house last night. They just moved in last week. Her husband had to work a 12 hour shift last night so I went over and we watched the Lord of the Rings (Fellowship), which I had never seen. She seemed pretty dumbfounded that I hadn't seen it yet. In fact, most of the movies she has and has seen, I haven't seen. I usually watch slap stick comedy or artistic movies and normally shy away from action movies. I enjoyed LOTR, however found so much fighting made me anxious and man were those creatures creepy and ugly! It was a good thing there were a couple of men in there to look at, otherwise it would have been a waste for 6 hours..lol.......Anyway I kept saying, "If you don't fast forward through this next fight, I am leaving." She would say it is only a few more minutes....45 minutes later...LOL. I did enjoy the show and hope to be invited back to watch number 2 in about 3 weeks when her husband goes away again. (When the husband is away, the girls and kids will play...) Regarding the movie, I begged her to turn the subtitles on. She said I was a nerd but she did it. (Such a nice friend.) At the end of the evening she said she would more than likely go back and watch number 2 and 3 with subtitles to see what else she missed. *Grin*
I have more pictures of the kids and my meal, which I will post later today. Not feeling so good right now....Later

T G I F - Phew! Did you think it would ever get here?
It is finally here and I am so ready for a 3 day weekend. I have been working on the company website all day and haven't finished it. It really stinks a bunch. I am wordless at the moment and having problems with putting words together to make a statement and one, which would represent what we are trying to do here. Difficult. I am really going to try hard NOT to work on it this weekend. I need rest and I plan to have plenty of it.
Hope everyone has a good rest of the day.
Hope everyone has a good rest of the day.
Brain Surgery Continues
This morning I was speaking with owner (hereinafter called My BOSS) of my company and the building owner’s father came through checking on things.
Me: Is your son (building owner) coming in today?
Building Owners Father: Yes he is.
Me: He has my rubber stamps!
My Boss: What? Do you know that the building owner thanked me last week for you sending him stamps?
Me: Now why would I send the owner of this building stamps? I have been messing with the delivery service for over a week because they said they delivered my package. After a week, I find out the building owner has them.
Laughter!
My Boss: I also saw him (building owner) this past Saturday and again, he said, “That was really nice of her (me) to send me those stamps.” Boss said to me, :I thought maybe you had sent him a handmade card." The building owner than said to my boss...“you don’t know anything about those stamps do you?”
Laughter!
Me: The package had MY NAME on it! Why would the building owner think I sent them to him? It had my name on it!
Laughter!
My Boss: I thought it was really weird that you would send him rubber stamps but I wasn’t sure what was going on.
Laughter!
Me: OMG! It was set of 4, I believe one say’s friend, one says love, cherish and thanks….Why would I send an older man with lots of money a stamp set with those words on it? A stamp set! Tell him if you see him this weekend if I get my stamp set back, I will make him a card!
Tears of Laughter!

Is this brain surgery?
I forgot that I had ordered something (rubber stamp set for $2.00) a while back from Ebay. I started checking to see why I had not received it. I made contact with the person who shipped it and she had a confirmation that it was delivered.
The more I looked into the issue, the angrier I got at the carrier who delivered the package. The carrier called me several times and said, “The carrier remembers she delivered the package.” (How can one remember one particular package is beyond me...but read on...)
I was like "What do I do? Do I file a claim or what because I don’t have it.”
”Well, you will need to go and ask everyone in your building if they got the package. Maybe someone else has the package.”
My next question was, “What do I do after I ask everyone in my building” (Mind you a work in a military building with hundreds of people). The delivery person was shocked that I even asked that. “You will need to check with them first.”
“OKAY, I will run up and down 3 flights of stairs, and 3 separate sections of this large building and go into each office after office asking each military man if they got my rubber stamps in error.” The carrier was okay with that sentence.
A few hours later I got another call from the delivery carrier. “Did you find your package because the carrier remembers she put the package in the building owner’s box?” I was like, “It didn’t have their name on the package, why would she have done that?” “Well if it didn’t have your suite on it, then it would not have been delivered properly, there are hundreds of people there."
I said, "Well according to the delivery notification on the web, the suite number was used!”
Frustrated I said, “OH WELL NEVERMIND!!! I will go and ask the building owner if he has my rubber stamps.”
“Okay, that sounds good.” Was the carriers reply.
I said, “What happens if he doesn’t have them?” Again, I could hear very little from the lack of brain from the other end of the phone. I stated, “What would the next step be?” They were dumbfounded.
“Well, we will call you back tomorrow.”
I said, “Okay, the next step is I will ask the owners if they have my rubber stamp set, and then you will call me tomorrow to see if I have recovered the missing package…that is the next step in this process?”
“Yes" they said.
So I called the maintenance man and asked him if the owner of the building receive a package with my name on it? “Hum, let me go up and look in the box…” (Which he physically did anyway...)
“No, it would have been a few weeks back…..it was for me and it had my name on it. It was rubber stamps, which I purchased from Ebay and the delivery person states they delivered it here to this building”
Maintenance man: “Oh, yes, he did receive a package, which he didn’t know what to do with…. It had rubber stamps in it and when he opened it, he said, I wonder why someone sent me rubber stamps.”
I had to laugh out loud! Did he NOT READ on the package that it had MY NAME on it? This man KNOWS ME PERSONALLY! So nice maintenance man said he would look in owner’s office to see if rubber stamps were there. If not, perhaps owner took my rubber stamps home….If he can’t find them, I am sure he will just write me out a check to repurchase them...But COME ON PEOPLE...this isn't brain surgery!

Do I have dementia?
I just found this table (TABLE 1 Below) about Ginkgo Biloba and if I am reading this correctly, unless I have dementia my memory will not be enhanced? The reason why I am taking this is for my memory....So I have to be dementia so that my memory will be better...So that lead me to look up the word dementia and the dictonary states:
Dementia (from Latin de- "apart, away" + mens (genitive mentis) "mind") .....Particularly affected areas may be memory, attention, language and problem solving, although particularly in the later stages of the condition, affected persons may be disoriented in time (not knowing what day, week, month or year it is), place (not knowing where they are) and person (not knowing who they are).
DID I NOT JUST SAY IN MY POST BELOW THAT I DIDN'T KNOW WHAT DAY IT WAS? This means I am dementia? And problem solving...I could NEVER do math problem solving in school! Have I been dementia since childhood? I have woken up before not knowing where I was...does this count for not knowing where I was? I don't remember (thus the reason why I am taking Ginkgo) not knowing who I was. There has been times in my life when I think I know someone and it wasn't really them...(Example: I saw Elvis the other day getting gas.) Does this count?
TABLE 1
Key Points About Ginkgo Biloba
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Efficacy Alzheimer's disease: effective
Cerebrovascular disease: modest positive effects
Dementia: modest positive effects
Memory enhancement: ineffective in adults without dementia
Intermittent claudication: modest positive effects
Tinnitus: modest positive effects
Bottom line Safe herbal medication; may be effective for treatment of symptoms of Alzheimer's disease, intermittent claudication, and tinnitus

The Itchy and Scratchy Show

My head has been itchy for the last 2 days. I scratch and scratch like a cat would a new post. Today as I was sitting at my desk, I thought to myself, “What if I have lice?” I do live with a 5 year old who goes to school all day. They say the cleanest people have lice. Well, I guess I better get it checked out. I can’t stand going through another day of itching. I can’t believe what I asked the owner of the company to do next…”Please come and look at my hair to see if I have lice.” He came out of his office and looked and then said, “NO, you don’t have lice, why would you think you would have lice? You have dry skin and you have scratched your head raw.” I have never had dry skin on my head before. This is something new to me…..So, I say, “I am not going to be able to go all day scratching my head. I must go to a medical clinic.” He, knowing not to disagree with me says “Go”. As I am driving, I then think, maybe my hair dresser would know what to do. It would save me my co pay. So I turned around and went to see her. She looked and said, “You have dry skin!” and I purchased some special oil from her. I went to my car and greased my hair around the area, which was itchy and what do you know! The itching has almost stopped! It is 98% better!!! The only problem is it looks like either I haven't washed the top of my skull for awhile, or my hair is wet....I went ahead and put my hair up in a little pony so it does look much better...So my next question would be, and I will not judge anyone on this who answers….”What would lice feel like if I had it?”
Is today Wednesday or Thursday?
My life is crazy and compared to some, it might seem boring however when you don't know what day it is and you work every day it would seem I would be a little out of it. I am giving myself a little break here, I understand it is early in the morning and I am hungry; however, I have remembered to take my Ginkgo biloba...Shouldn't this help me remember what day it is? I read up on Ginkgo biloba product and any day now, I should cease with having dementia and began enjoying a life free from forgetting. At least I think I should be experiencing this....I am not quite sure this morning.
ONE FATHER'S OCCUPATION
One day a fourth-grade teacher asked the children what their fathers did for a living. All the typical answers came up -- fireman, mechanic, businessman, salesman, doctor, lawyer, and so forth. But little Justin was being uncharacteristically quiet, so when the teacher prodded him about his father, he replied, "My father's an exotic dancer in a gay cabaret and takes off his clothes in front of other men and they put money in his underwear. Sometimes, if the offer is really good, he will go home with some guy and make love with him for money." The teacher, obviously shaken by this statement, hurriedly set the other children to work on some exercises and then took little Justin aside to ask him, "Is that really true about your father?" "No," the boy said, "He works for the Democratic National Committee and is helping to secure the Nomination of Hillary Clinton in 2008, but I was too embarrassed to say that in front of the other kids."
Sorry if I offended anyone with this one in anyway...I couldn't help myself...I thought it was funny.

How Smart Is Your Right Foot?
This is so funny that it will boggle your mind. And you will keep trying it at least 50 more times to see if you can out smart your foot.
But you can't!!!
1. While sitting at your desk, lift your right foot off the floor and make clockwise circles with it.
2. Now, while doing this, draw the number "6" in the air with your right hand. Your foot will change direction!!!
I told you so . . . and there is nothing you can do about it.

Bagel Dogs Gone Bye Bye
The bagel dogs were purchased from Schwans....The first time I got a box, I ate them for breakfast and lunch and ran out before the Schwan's man came back in....(comes in at my work now and then for others and I just happened to see him...) Anyway, since I ran out before the next time I saw him, I purchased 2 boxes...This is a cheap breakfast and lunch...Well, I couldn't and didn't finished the first box. (Maybe 4 left or so) The second box hasn't even been open! So guess what...It was a good day because Schwan's man came into my office today and he let me RETURN THEM!! So I bought some popcorn from him....HA
My friend who used to work with me invited me out for lunch today. I am sure she took pitty on me...however, I will take pitty on her after my salary is brought back up...We used to buy each other lunches when we worked together. It all washes out in the end...and it was good to see her.
Speaking of salary being brought back up...No it isn't yet but good things are coming! Owner man signed a new contract today with something very promising and we have people in line waiting to purchase the goods! I just believe, in a year from now we are going to realize the good, which came from all this work stuff we have gone through these last few months. Good things are happening for us and on top of this I was BUSY all DAY!
The other news I have is....drum roll please...I have the next 2 birthday presents purchased / ordered for my friends b-day!...Stephanie and Judy!!! I like to think ahead....in fact, I have already done a lot of Christmas shopping for my family this summer...I guess it was a good thing since I am less 1/2 of my salary right now.
Got to go and try to get some rest now....Don't know how I can because my stomach isn't well tonight but will give it a shot...
UPDATE: The new stamp I got reads..."Be Happy Every Day" I realize I should not have spent any money on unnecessary things like that, however, it is being discontinued and I have been searching for months!

UPDATE: Bageldog ended up in the trash...I couldn't go it. I took one bite and that was enough for me....I found some crackers with cheese...HURRAY!!! It is breakfast time and I am a very happy girl!

We painted her fingers nails today.

My little handprints on the walls
On the mirrors and in the halls
I'll be grown some day
And all those tiny handprints
Will surely fade away
So here's a special gift
Just so you can recall
Exactly how my hands looked
When I was very small
Detox
I have been surfing the web getting into things I probably should be...no not porn...medical stuff....Couple weeks ago I went to the health food store and inquired about a liver detox so off and on I have been doing the detox. One week on, one week off. It is extremely interesting what happens when you detox. Strange things are happen to me...(Isn't that a song in Toy Story..) Well anyway, looking into it even deeper, what I am experiencing is what could happen when one is detoxing. I just never knew. I am so glad I am doing this because I would be walking around with all these bad things in my liver and doing more harm to it.
I get to go to jury duty tomorrow. I can't wait to see what happens....I am used to getting up and going to the bathroom when I need to...What happens if I have to go and I am not allowed to?

Guess what day today is?

I wanted to wish everyone a Happy Toliet Paper Day early today, however every time I remembered, I couldn't get into my blog. I have had this marked on my calendar for weeks so I know it is a little late, however it is better late than never. I also want to thank whoever invented toliet paper. Could you imagine cleaning old corn cobs? I think cleaning the toliet with a scrub brush is bad enough but cleaning corn cobs makes me sick...So everyone go and celebrate by using the bathroom and cleaning yourself with toliet paper.

Taxes Suck
I got a notice from the state saying I missed filing taxes for the dept of work force development. I was like…how could I have done that? Called them and they said they send out the paperwork to complete. Since I pick up the mail every day and open the mail do you think I would have noticed if I had received it? I didn’t get it…UGH now my company has to pay a penalty. Okay, it is my fault I do agree, I should have noticed that I didn’t pay it since the money was sitting in the accounts ledger….I agree with this…but no notice given, just a 10% late fee…..That sucks….Even criminals get 3 strikes before they are out. Why does a company who is never late get a penalty right off the bat? Taxes angers me so much! They are so unconstitutional. This is one of the reasons why I believe in the Libertarian Party.
What is a Libertarian?
Libertarians believe that you have the right to live your life as you wish, without the government interfering -- as long as you don’t violate the rights of others. Politically, this means Libertarians favor rolling back the size and cost of government, and eliminating laws that stifle the economy and control people’s personal choices.
Are Libertarians liberal or conservative?
Libertarians are neither. Unlike liberals or conservatives, Libertarians advocate a high degree of both personal and economic liberty. For example, Libertarians agree with conservatives about freedom in economic matters, so we're in favor of lowering taxes, slashing bureaucratic regulation of business, and charitable -- rather than government -- welfare. But Libertarians also agree with liberals on personal tolerance, so we're in favor of people’s right to choose their own personal habits and lifestyles.
In a sense, Libertarians “borrow” from both sides to come up with a logical and consistent whole -- but without the exceptions and broken promises of Republican and Democratic politicians. That's why we call ourselves the Party of Principle.
How large is the Libertarian Party?
By almost every objective measure, the Libertarian Party is the third-largest political party in America. We’re active in all 50 states and have more than 200,000 registered voters, which is more than all other third parties combined. (I heard last year, in Hamilton County the Libertarian Party held the Number 2 spot beating out the Democrat Party!)

True or not it is worth repeating
I read this one before and you may have too but I think it is worth reading again. I almost cry every time. I don't know if this is a true story or not, but it touches my heart and I hope it will touch yours too. If it doesn't touch you in anyway then you have no heart. (Just wanted to let you know just in case you have never been told that before.)
One day, when I was a freshman in high school, I saw a kid from my class was walking home from school. His name was Kyle. It looked like he was carrying all of his books. I thought to myself, "Why would anyone bring home all his books on a Friday? He must really be a nerd." I had quite a weekend planned (parties and a football game with my friend’s tomorrow afternoon), so I shrugged my shoulders and went on. As I was walking, I saw a bunch of kids running toward him. They ran at him, knocking all his books out of his arms and tripping him so he landed in the dirt. His glasses went flying, and I saw them land in the grass about ten feet from him. He looked up and I saw this terrible sadness in his eyes. My heart went out to him so, I jogged over to him and as he crawled around looking for his glasses, and I saw a tear in his eye. As I handed him his glasses, I said, "Those guys are jerks.” They really should get lives." He looked at me and said, "Hey thanks!" There was a big smile on his face. It was one of those smiles that showed real gratitude. I helped him pick up his books, and asked him where he lived. As it turned out, he lived near me, so I asked him why I had never seen him before. He said he had gone to private school before now. I would have never hung out with a private school kid before. We talked all the way home, and I carried some of his books. He turned out to be a pretty cool kid. I asked him if he wanted to play a little football with my friends He said yes. We hung out all weekend and the more I got to know Kyle, the more I liked him, and my friends thought the same of him. Monday morning came, and there was Kyle with the huge stack of books again. I stopped him and said, "Boy, you are going to really build some serious muscles with this pile of books everyday!" He just laughed and handed me half the books. Over the next four years, Kyle and I became best friends. When we were seniors, we began to think about college. Kyle decided on Georgetown, and I was going to Duke. I knew that we would always be friends, that the miles would never be a problem. He was going to be a doctor, and I was going for business on a football scholarship. Kyle was valedictorian of our class. I teased him all the time about being a nerd. He had to prepare a speech for graduation. I was so glad it wasn't me having to get up there and speak. I saw Kyle and could see that he was nervous about his speech. So, I smacked him on the back and said, "Hey, big guy, you'll be great!" He looked at me with one of those looks (the really grateful one) and smiled “Thanks," he said. As he started his speech, he cleared his throat, and began "Graduation is a time to thank those who helped you make it through those tough years. Your parents, your teachers, your siblings, maybe a coach...but mostly your friends... I am here to tell all of you that being a friend to someone is the best gift you can give them. I am going to tell you a story." I just looked at my friend with disbelief as he told the story of the first day we met. He had planned to kill himself over the weekend. He talked of how he had cleaned out his locker so his Mom wouldn't have to do it later and was carrying his stuff home. He looked hard at me and gave me a little smile. "Thankfully, I was saved. My friend saved me from doing the unspeakable." I heard the gasp go through the crowd. I saw his Mom and dad looking at me and smiling that same grateful smile. Not until that moment did I realize it's depth. Never underestimate the power of your actions. With one small gesture you can change a person's life for better or for worse. God puts us all in each other's lives to impact one another in some way. Look for God in others.

Virus
I am not a drinker but thought this one was cute.
There is a dangerous virus being passed on electronically, orally, and by hand. This virus is called Worm-Overload-Recreational-Killer (WORK). If you receive WORK from any of your colleagues, your bosses, or anyone else via any means, DO NOT TOUCH IT. This virus will wipe out your private life completely. If you should come into contact with WORK, put your jacket on and take two good friends to the nearest bar. Purchase the antidote known as Work-Isolator-Neutralizer-Extractor (WINE) or Bothersome-Employer-Eliminator-Rebooter (BEER). Take either antidote repeatedly until WORK has been completely eliminated from your system. You should tell 5 friends about this dangerous virus. If you do not have 5 friends, you have already been infected, and WORK is controlling your life.

Going Out With The Big Bosses
I was supposed to work late this evening. We had one of our national sales managers in town from Wisconsin...The good news is...I get to go out and have dinner and I don't have to pay for it! I can chit chat with the best of them for a free meal! Also, I was asked where I wanted to go. This is better than a date! I wanted to go to Just Judy's Restaurant to check it out but was told we need to stay on this side of town...darn the luck!
Desperately Seeking Susan

This Friday
11:00 AM
Shadeland and 71st Street
If you don't see anyone there you know, go home because apparently you are not a friend of ours.
UPDATE: 71st or 75th...it is the only one between those 2 streets...maybe I was putting the incorrect street to throw off enemies..now you went and ruined it! Thanks a lot! (smiles!)
Morning Routine Shaken Up
I used to come into my office and find I had 20, 30, even 60 unread emails and normally, less than 5% were junk. Now, I come in and I am lucky to have 3 new unread emails. The remaining emails are junk. This morning I had 9 junk emails and no new unread emails. What a huge disappointment for me. I am not saying I enjoy being bogged down with emails….it is just this is how I have started my mornings for the last 7 years. I got my caffeine, I sat down and I read for an hour. It let me unwind from the morning commute and let me sip my drink. It is kind of like those people who have to read the paper and drink coffee every morning. What do I do now? Does this mean I have to start working right away? It is time to start a new change and do things different. I am just having troubles with all these changes, which have been given to me all at once.
I hope everyone who got up and did the same thing they did yesterday as they did this morning has a great day! My day started out with a wow moment.

Be Happy
SIL has a rubber stamp, which reads "Be Happy Everyday". Well, I want that stamp! I love that stamp...So I decided to Google Be Happy Everyday and I found the below.....
When You Choose
To Be Happy Everyday
When you choose to be happy everyday
You'll find good things come your way.
If you want to be happy, start where you are.
Don't look for happiness, distant and far.
You can find happiness just where you are.
You can find it just where you are.
When you choose to be happy everyday
You'll find good things come your way.
To be happy is a choice, believe or not.
It doesn't depend on what you got.
It's your choice to be happy or not.
It's a choice to be happy or not.
When you choose to be happy everyday
You'll find good things come your way.
Easier said than done, many say.
For they don't know there's a happy way.
It's to choose to be happy everyday.
Choose to be happy day after day.
When you choose to be happy everyday
You'll find good things come your way.
When you know to be happy is your choice
You'll have reason to rejoice.
So choose to be happy everyday.
Choose to be happy day after day.
When you choose to be happy everyday
You'll find good things come your way.
Choose to be happy in the NOW
If you do you'll learn how
To be happy day after day
To be happy everyday
Does that make you want to be placed in a room with padded walls?
I liked the quote below much better: If you were happy everyday of your life, you wouldn't be human. You'd be a game show host.

Bagel Dogs Gone Bad
Not really bad, just if I have to eat another one I might go bad....I have been eating bagel dogs (frozen) for 3 weeks straight for lunch....or it seems. Since the decrease in pay, I have to watch my spending, which means no more eating lunch out...so I have been really good cutting corners and watching what I spend so that I can make it the next 2 months. Have you ever had your salary cut in half and still try to live?? S T I N K S....Anyway, if I have to eat another bagel dog this week I might have to be hospitalized because even the thought of them are starting to make me sick....And yet I still have a minimum of 8 weeks to go...ugh! A $5-7 lunch would be cheaper than a hosptial stay so I am thinking I should start using charge cards again to get through this difficult time...IT WILL BE MY LAST resort but I just don't think I can go another bagel day...I just don't think I can do it...

How to make your own rub-ons for scrapbooking and cards
I found this online and thought I would pass it on. I haven't tried it so I don't know if it will work...if anyone does it, let us know how it works!
You need:
(1)Transparency paper (purchased at your local office supply store, no need to buy the expensive stuff, the local store brand will do just fine)
(2)Inkject Printer
(3)Popsicle Stick
Step 1: Insert the transparency into your inket printer, so that it prints on the SMOOTH side of the transparency.
Step 2: Open your favourite word processing or photo program and create the text/image you want to have as a rub on.
Step 3: Format your printer settings so that it is set to print on "plain paper", "best quality" and "mirror image" (the image needs to be reversed especially if you are printing text or it will appear backwards).
Step 4: Print your "rub-on"
Step 5: Let dry for about 3-5 minutes, careful not to touch it
Step 6: Place the transparency smooth side down onto your project exactly where you want the image/text to appear, holding firmly in place, and rub with a popsicle stick just like you would any other rub on. Don't be afraid to push to hard, and make sure you rub the entire image.
Step 7: Carefully remove the transparency and let ink completey dry before touching
Step 8: Use a damp cloth or paper towel to clean off your transparency and get it ready for your next rub-on, you can re-use the transparency over and over and over again.
TIPS: I recomment that you practice first on a few scraps to get the hang of it. Every ink jet printer is different so you may need to allow more or less drying time before you actually apply your rub-on. Trial, error and patience will get you creating your own UNIQUE rub-ons in no time!
Unfortunately, I don't have the website address to where I found this to give credit to the owner....sorry it was a copy of a copy but we give thanks to the person who provided the information anyway!

Cards Below
The pictures below of the cards are not mine! I asked Step if I could try to sell a card set, which she made. After she completed them, I set up an account , took pictures with my phone and uploaded them here so I could easily save them to the ad. I wish I could copy and mine looked good to but I have problems doing it too...
I am going to start seeing if I can sell items too. If you have anything things you want to add, let me know and I will up them up for you too.

Lunch
On Friday I asked Stephanie if she wanted to join me..."We could meet at a near by park.." She then informed me that it was "pissing rain". How could I have not known? Even though I sit in a basement, my office has windows....Anyway, I thought we could eat lunch in our car and just park facing each other but as it turns out, she got lunch brought for her so I ate lunch in my conference room. I would love to get together and have lunch or even just water. I would enjoy getting out and talking with friends...I don't have to eat as I have food at work...I don't mind at all. Castleton would be a bit far for me only because of the traffic in and out. It takes me around 10 minutes to get to Stephanie's place and about 15 minutes to get to 96th Street off of 69. It is easier to get in and out there...but I am game for just about anything. I might even be game to have lunch out every now and then if the company is good...(smiles!)...I do have an open credit card! LOL!!

Continue On
As I am sitting here at work on Friday morning, I hear myself say I can't go on. I just can not go on like this. I am exhausted and my head is nodding off. Then I realize I haven't had any of my vitamins. So I get out my bag (yes bag) of vitamins and start pouring them out on my desk. I am allowed 3 a day of my multi. I normally take 1 in the morning and 2 at lunch however today I decided to switch it up a bit since I am feeling so down. My job either needs to pick up or I need to only work a few days a week. I just can't take being bored. It isn't that I don't have anything to do, what is left isn't appealing and I just don't want to do it. I think I will go outside and take a quick walk. This should stimulate me and I hope to come back refreshed and ready to tackle the work I keep pushing off...

Thank you for looking beyond my clay vessel.
A man was exploring caves by the seashore. In one of the caves he found a canvas bag with a bunch of hardened clay balls. It was like someone had rolled clay balls and left them out in the sun to bake. They didn't look like much, but they intrigued the man, so he took the bag out of the cave with him. As he strolled along the beach, he would throw the clay balls one at a time out into the ocean as far as he could. He thought little about it, until he dropped one of the clay balls and it cracked open on a rock. Inside was a beautiful, precious stone! Excited, the man started breaking open the remaining clay balls. Each contained a similar treasure. He found thousands of dollars worth of jewels in the 20 or so clay balls he had left. Then it struck him. He had been on the beach a long time. He had thrown maybe 50 or 60 of the clay balls with their hidden treasure into the ocean waves. Instead of thousands of dollars in treasure, he could have taken home tens of thousands, but he had just thrown it away!
It's like that with people. We look at someone, maybe even ourselves, and we see the external clay vessel. It doesn't look like much from the outside. It isn't always beautiful or sparkling, so discount it. We see that person as less important than someone more beautiful or stylish or well known or wealthy but we have not taken the time to find the treasure hidden inside that person. There is a treasure in each and every one of us. If we take the time to get to know that person, and if we ask God to show us that person the way He sees them, then the clay begins to peel away and the brilliant gem begins to shine forth. May we not come to the end of our lives and find out that we have thrown away a fortune in friendships because the gems were hidden in bits of clay. May we see the people in our world as God sees them.
I am so blessed by the gems of friendship I have with each of you.
(Now please pass me a Kleenex.)

Inner Strength
If you can start the day without caffeine, If you can get going without pep pills, If you can always be cheerful, ignoring aches and pains, If you can resist complaining and boring people with your troubles, If you can eat the same food everyday and be grateful for it, If you can understand when your loved ones are too busy to give you any time, If you can take criticism and blame without resentment, If you can ignore a friend's limited education and never correct him, If you can resist treating a rich friend better than a poor friend, If you can conquer tension without medical help, If you can relax without liquor, If you can sleep without the aid of drugs, ...Then You Are Probably The Family Dog!

Tonight at school
Since mommy had to work at school and daddy was out of state, I got to take niece to the ice cream social and to meet the teacher. It was awful! Niece was so very upset and she cried so hard I didn't know if she was going to stop. My heart went out to her. I wanted to cry too. She keeps saying she isn't going to school tomorrow. We all know she is going tomorrow, however I am going to pray that she has a good day on Thursday.
My friend is a bad girl!
Yesterday, after a morning from H E double hockey sticks, I started cleaning out the conference room. There were empty boxes and there were old “stuff” just sitting there and I was TIRED of looking at it. In our conference room we have a pretty big, new, flat screen TV with a VCR/DVD hook up. It has been my job to HOOK the things up and I just didn’t take the time. So anyway, after the morning from… H E double hockey sticks….I got up and started pitching and sorting and cleaning and I hooked up the TV. I put the crap in the boxes we wanted to keep and put them away in storage. The room now looks amazing…I must have started a cleaning fit with owner because today, he and I hung up pictures (We have been here 2 years….) and we threw out old brand name items, which we used to sell and just couldn’t get rid of..(YOU KNOW THE ONE I AM TALKING ABOUT...) And we completely reorganized the hall, the front office and the communication room. He started towards my office and I almost screamed…”You are out of bounds!” I am not ready for him to be in my space just yet. It wouldn’t matter if he did come in and try to straighten me out; it would just become a mess again. I TRY, I really do. I organize until I am blue in the face and I turn around and it is a mess again. I HATE IT! I hate that I can’t keep organized. That is another story……. When we were moving items around in the communication center, we moved our huge battery back up. Guess what crawled out from under…yes, those dirty, filthy bugs! (They may have been water bugs but I don’t care…a bug is a bug!) I almost had a fraking cow! He just laughed….it seems, since the battery gets so warm, it is a nice place for bugs to crawl up into and have their babies….OHOHOHO just thinking about it makes me want to be sick….I am NEVER going into that room again! Anyway, I am telling my friend (ex if she isn’t considerate of my feelings about bugs) about it and she sent me a picture of bugs! Is that the most inconsiderate thing to do? I told her she was a bad, bad girl. I know she is laughing her head off but I don’t think it is one bit funny…do you?
First Thing This Morning
I have already ranted to a few of my friends but that wasn’t enough so I decided to put it up and out to the world. Anytime something was faxed in, which did not belong to my company, the owner would handwrite a message and fax the notice back. He asked me to do the same. After having to write the same thing over and over, I typed up the following:
He and I have been sending the above out every day, for almost 2 months, numerous times a day. Today, I came in and found on my desk changes he made to the letter. His changes read:
Should he not be concentrating on getting new business and not changing words on a note? It isn't like the words were misspelled or anything. He just made the changes because he wanted to change them. Yes, they do sound better but does it not really matter? Does he not have enough to do? Should I give him work? This is the type of shit he does, which waste his time and cost this company money. It really pisses me off. What would you do if you worked at a company who is struggling to keep the doors open, you have taken a pay cut and yet still, the owner doesn’t see the big picture? Don’t say jump ship….I want to know if you would say something about him being a freak or something.
Please process this request via the (Corporate America) letter dated June 22, 2006.
Thanks for the many years of support. Attached is a copy of all the other product lines represented by (My company’s name goes here.)
If there is any product line listed, which we can help grow your business, please do not hesitate to let us know. (My company’s Name) would welcome the opportunity.
Continued success in the future!

Making it more difficult than it needs to be
My job isn’t what it used to be. I am not saying it isn’t easier or harder, just different. Well, much easier since I don’t have to take complaints every day. Much easier because the phone doesn’t ring all day along and much easier because I don’t have to dish out employee warning reports or baby-sit; however it is much harder because I am the one who has to knock on doors for sales. That is the tough part for me. I am in a training class for sales and it helps a great deal, however I still fumble and fall and I don’t like it one bit.
I wonder if sales are easier for some than others or if everyone has the same troubles as I have. I am learning more each day how to work the system but the rejection is something, which is the hardest part. I am sure rejection is tough for anyone, no matter if you are in sales or not. If I could just stick to the program I am learning, I know it could work. I just have to forget the fear of picking up the phone and do what I am learning. Yet still, I worry and fret and don’t do it as often as I need to. I need to get over myself, my fears, and my negative thoughts and believe the people I am calling aren’t rejecting me personally. Writing this now, makes me want to pick up the phone and call as I have been taught and I think this is what I am going to do. Right now….I am going to hope for the best and grab a firm hold on the thought process of winning the big prize. Wish me luck.

Java

This morning I wanted coffee from Java Junction. I talked myself into and out and back into getting some. This coffee house isn’t Starbucks. It isn’t your momma’s coffee either. It is gourmet coffee and the taste is amazing. Most importantly to my current financial situation, however, it is expensive. I counted back how many days I had actually not given myself a treat, not went shopping, not eating out and how well I was doing counting my pennies. Back and forth I swayed my thoughts. I could go buy coffee at the local gas station and save a dollar. Hum, that just didn’t sound good and the gourmet coffee it is just a dollar more. (Well almost $2) I could go buy a gallon of tea and drink it all week for the cost I would be spending on the one cup of coffee. I, however, wanted something warm. I then turned my heat on in my car thinking this would diminish my craving. No, the craving was still there and would not go away. I will just go buy the coffee house and if there is a line, I will not stop. I don’t want to be late for work. I could just drive by and smell the aroma. As I turn to look, darn it! There wasn’t a single car in the drive up window.
I began to get excited. I am going to get myself a delicious cup of coffee. I am going to splurge and get one. Oh, all the choices, what will I choose? As I look at the menu board I get very excited. Should I get the white chocolate coffee or maybe the chocolate mocha with the gourmet syrup? I decided on the white chocolate coffee and smile to the man. “Would you like some food to go with your purchase?” “No, no thank you” I say, “just the coffee this morning” as I pull away I am smiling. As I took my first, second, third drink I grinned even bigger. AHH, this is good and what felt even better then spending the $4.32 was that I felt good about the purchase. It was a satisfying treat, which I enjoyed more today than I would have if I hadn’t been pinching my pennies.

Before it is to late
One day a teacher asked her students to list the names of the other students in the room on two sheets of paper, leaving a space between each name.
Then she told them to think of the nicest thing they could say about each of their classmates and write it down.
It took the remainder of the class period to finish their assignment, and as the students left the room, each one handed in the papers.
That Saturday, the teacher wrote down the name of each student on a separate sheet of paper, and listed what everyone else had said about that individual.
On Monday she gave each student his or her list. Before long, the entire class was smiling. "Really?" she heard whispered "I never knew that I meant anything to anyone!" and, "I didn't know others liked me so much.” Were most of their comments.
No one ever mentioned those papers in class again. She never knew if they discussed them after class or with their parents, but it didn't matter. The exercise had accomplished its purpose. The students were happy with themselves and one another. That group of students moved on.
Several years later, one of the students was killed in Viet Nam and his teacher attended the funeral of that special student. She had never seen a serviceman in a military coffin before. He looked so handsome, so mature.
The church was packed with his friends. One by one those who loved him took a last walk by the coffin. The teacher was the last one to bless the coffin.
As she stood there, one of the soldiers who acted as pallbearer came up to her. "Were you Mark's math teacher?" he asked. She nodded: "yes." Then he said: "Mark talked about you a lot."
After the funeral, most of Mark's former classmates went together to a luncheon. Mark's mother and father were there, obviously waiting to speak with his teacher.
"We want to show you something," his father said, taking a wallet out of his pocket. "They found this on Mark when he was killed. We thought you might recognize it."
Opening the billfold, he carefully removed two worn pieces of notebook paper that had obviously been taped, folded and refolded many times. The teacher knew without looking that the papers were the ones on which she had listed all the good things each of Mark's classmates had said about him.
"Thank you so much for doing that," Mark's mother said. "As you can see, Mark treasured it."
All of Mark's former classmates started to gather around. Charlie smiled rather sheepishly and said, "I still have my list. It's in the top drawer of my desk at home."
Chuck's wife said, "Chuck asked me to put his in our wedding album."
"I have mine too," Marilyn said. "It's in my diary."
Then Vicki, another classmate, reached into her pocketbook, took out her wallet and showed her worn and frazzled list to the group. "I carry this with me at all times," Vicki said and without batting an eyelash, she continued: "I think we all saved our lists."
That's when the teacher finally sat down and cried. She cried for Mark and for all his friends who would never see him again.

So please, tell the people you love and care for, that they are special and important. Tell them, before it is too late.

Difference Between Women And Men
1.NAMES
If Laurie, Linda, Elizabeth and Barbara go out for lunch, they will call each other Laurie, Linda, Elizabeth and Barbara.
If Mark, Chris, Eric and Tom go out, they will affectionately refer to each other as Fat Boy, Godzilla, Peanut-Head and Scrappy.
2.EATING OUT
When the bill arrives, Mark, Chris, Eric and Tom will each throw in a $20 , even though it's only for $32.50. None of them will have anything smaller and none will actually admit they want change back.
When the women get their bill, out come the pocket calculators.
3.MONEY
A man will pay $2 for a $1 item he needs.
A woman will pay $1 for a $2 item that she doesn't need, but it's on sale.
4.BATHROOMS
A man has five items in his bathroom: a toothbrush, shaving cream, razor, a bar of soap, and a towel from the Marriott.
The average number of items in the typical woman's bathroom is 337. A man would not be able to identify most of these items.
5.ARGUMENTS
A woman has the last word in any argument.
Anything a man says after that... is the beginning of a new argument.
6.CATS
Women love cats.
Men say they love cats, but when women aren't looking, men kick cats.
7.FUTURE
A woman worries about the future until she gets a husband.
A man never worries about the future until he gets a wife.
8.SUCCESS
A successful man is one who makes more money than his wife can spend.
A successful woman is one who can find such a man.
9.MARRIAGE
A woman marries a man expecting he will change, but he doesn't.
A man marries a woman expecting that she won't change, and she does.
10.DRESSING UP
A woman will dress up to go shopping, water the plants, empty the garbage, answer the phone, read a book, and get the mail.
A man will dress up for weddings and funerals.
11.OFFSPRING
Ah, children. A woman knows all about her children. She knows about dentist appointments and romances, best friends, favorite foods, secret fears and hopes and dreams.
A man is vaguely aware of some short people living in the house
12.THOUGHT FOR THE DAY
Any married man should forget his mistakes. There's no use in two people remembering the same thing.

Lipstick in Schools
According to a news report, a certain school in Garden City MI was recently faced with a problem. A number of 12-year-old girls were beginning to use lipstick and would put it on in the washroom.
That was fine, but after they put on their lipstick they would press their lips to the mirror leaving dozens of little lip prints. Every night, the maintenance man would remove them and the next day, the girls would put them back.
Finally the principal decided that something had to be done. He called all the girls to the washroom and met them there with the maintenance man.
He explained that all these lip prints were causing a major problem for the custodian who had to clean the mirrors every night.
To demonstrate how difficult it had been to clean the mirrors, he asked the maintenance man to show the girls how much effort was required.
He took out a long-handled squeegee, dipped it in the toilet, and cleaned the mirror with it. Since then, there have been no lip prints on the mirror.

State Fair
I keep hearing about different people going to the state fair. I wanted to let everyone know that my cousin, Ellen Wilson-Pruitt (sorry not sure about the last name) has a porcelain painting of my niece and my deceased grandmother. It is called Namesake...If you go into that particular building...take a peek for it. It is beautiful.
Bay City Rollers
S A TUR DAY Nite!
I couldn't drag my family with me to go to a party tonight so, instead, at the last moment, my friend Stephanie Byers went with me. Can I tell you about the food??!! It was so INCREDIBLE! They had salmon (fixed 2 ways), shrimp (fixed 3 ways), turkey (fixed 2 ways), beef (fixed 2 ways), sausage (I can think of maybe 3 different kinds...may have been more!), steak, scallions, crab legs, pulled pork, and I am sure I might be missing something here...and that was just the meats....They also hired a live jazz band who WERE AMAZING! I tried to record on my cell phone but it ended up being a bad recording, otherwise I would put it on. I believe the lady and the band was called Mary Moss and I was told she was a recorded musician. It was such a beautiful night with the cool air and just right breeze. It couldn't have been a nicer day for an outdoor party. So, after I dragged Stephanie to the party, I had to drag her away from the party. She wanted to stay but since it was a lot for me to even go and stay several hours, I thought I did good. She said "next" year she would either 1. Drive herself or 2. Have her husband drive her....I am SO SORRY Stephanie that I didn't want to stay any longer...I felt bad for having to leave but I am thankful I went and I am thankful that I had someone to go with...So THANK YOU THANK YOU.......I will post pictures later...
Hope everyone had a good Saturday night...

Salary Cuts

My salary has been cut by ½. Why do I stay at a job, which my salary was cut? Because of what they say about the grass being greener on the other side….There is a lot going on here and in the end, I know everything is going to be fine. I have also been informed my salary would be repaid back to me starting the first of the year when the money starts flowing in again and it will flow again. I can’t speak about what is happening because it is in the hands of a legal eagle but I can say I am going to benefit from it a great deal once it is all said and done. It is just getting through the next few months, which is going to suck. Wish me well friends!

Lunch = Vitamins
I went out for a short break for my lunch and got some multi-vitamins. I am not talking about the Wal-Mart brand or even the CVS brand kind. I went full speed ahead and bought an expensive brand from a health food store. I just couldn't take the possibility of falling asleep on the job. The owner of my company is due in today and what do you think he would say if I was laying face down on my keyboard sound asleep? The drool would get into the keyboard and it would be ruined! I don't think he would be any to pleased. The issue is the brand I bought, you have to take 3 pills. THREE! Why didn't I read the package as to how many you have to take? So, I just took 3 and I will probably be talking a mile a minute in a little while because I will have so much energy. (I hope I have more energy.) The only problem is, I will be talking to myself as there isn't anyone in the office besides myself. I could possibly see this being another issue, which multi-vitamins couldn't cure....
Marketing Blitz
For about 2 weeks, (on and off) I have been doing cold calling customers to see if they would use one of our newest product lines. This is a first for me as I never had to make cold calls before. I can’t say that I enjoy doing them either….YUCK! After many hours I got a nibble and I am very excited about the nibble! I told owner, I realize it is an extremely small victory never less it was one, which I made all on my own! *pats self on back* I had a customer who not only decided that his company would “try” the line but this company went ahead and filled out and sent me their credit application! I am so HAPPY that making more calls today may not be as difficult as yesterday. I have heard you will hear 100 no's and then 1 yes. Today, I start back at counting from the beginning...ONE, TWO....
Employee Warning Report
I am so tired. Yesterday and today I am just so exhausted. I am wondering if me being tired has something to do with not having any multi-vitamins to take. I ran out last week. I am really working hard on not spending any money right now due to my job uncertainty; however I am thinking I am going to have to go spend money to get some vitamins. I believe I nodded off at work yesterday. If I find myself doing this type of behavior I will have no choice but to write myself up on an employee warning report. I can think of several reasons:
1. Early quit – Deciding to stop working and sleeping is quitting early even if I am physically in the office.
2. Substandard Work Quality – I don’t work while sleeping very well so the quality of my work would greatly decrease.
3. Carelessness – Not being able to answer customer’s questions because I am sleeping on my desk would cause me to be careless with time.
4. Violation of Company Policies or Procedures – Although I didn’t see anything in the policy and procedure manual, which stated exactly “You must not sleep on the job”, I do believe it would be a violation because I wouldn’t be working.
5. Unfit for Duty – Have you ever been woken up and not known where you were? What if I was having a dream and picked up the phone where my dream left off? Let’s say a UFO had just beamed me up to their space ship and I screamed “Leave me alone or what have I done to deserve this?” while picking up the phone.
6. Working on Personal Matters/Conflict of Interest – I wouldn’t be working since I would be sleeping, however sleeping while on the clock would definitely be a conflict of interest.

On a horse
You are on a horse, galloping at a constant speed. On your right side is a sharp drop off, and on your left side is an elephant traveling at the same speed as you. Directly in front of you is a galloping kangaroo and your horse is unable to overtake it. Behind you is a lion running at the same speed as you and the Kangaroo. What must you do to safely get out of this highly dangerous situation?

Hair Today, Gone Tomorrow

I need suggestions as to what to do with my HAIR! I made an appointment tomorrow to get it cut and colored but I just don't know what kind of "style" to do. I don't want to go into my salon without know what I need her to do because I will come out looking the same tired way.
Please give me SUGGESTIONS!

Love this stamp!
Intuition or Sensitive or just down right Crazy
On Friday, July 7th, while I was traveling from my work to my home, I had this feeling. It was a very strong feeling that my current working conditions were going to be okay. I picked up my phone and I called the owners wife and said, “I just got the most wonderful feeling everything is going to be okay.” I told her I just felt so confident things were going to work out for us and I believed it. Little did I know, the owner of the company I was working for had just gotten fired after 3 days from another place he was working. This meant, he would be coming back to work at his own company.
Yesterday, Tuesday, August 1 I was extremely depressed. I haven’t been this depressed in a long, long time. It was difficult for me to think, eat or concentrate while I was at work. I picked up the phone and I called my mother…who asked me if I was alone in the office. I was. She told me to try not to let it bother me so. Last evening I got a call from my mother. She informed me that my uncle had passed away that very morning. The very time I was suffering so badly from depression.
I was explaining the above to my friend Luci this morning. She asked me if I remembered when her husband died. I had told her I didn’t sleep well and woke up in the middle of the night and couldn’t catch my breath. The same time I woke up was around the time of her husbands death.
What does all this mean? Has anyone experienced anything like this before?

WHY DID THE CHICKEN CROSS THE ROAD?
DR. PHIL:
The problem we have here is that this chicken won't realize that he must first deal with the problem on "THIS" side of the road before it goes after the problem on the "OTHER SIDE" of the road. What we need to do is help him realize how stupid he's acting by not taking on his "CURRENT" problems before adding "NEW" problems.
OPRAH:
Well I understand that the chicken is having problems, which is why he wants to cross this road so bad. So instead of having the chicken learn from his mistakes and take falls, which is a part of life, I'm going to give this chicken a car so that he can just drive across the road and not live his life like the rest of the chickens.
JOHN KERRY:
Although I voted to let the chicken cross the road, I am now against it! It was the wrong road to cross, and I was misled about the chicken's intentions. I am for it now, and will remain against it.
JUDGE JUDY:
That chicken crossed the road because he's GUILTY! You can see it in his eyes and the way he walks
PAT BUCHANAN:
To steal the job of a decent, hardworking American.
MARTHA STEWART:
No one called me to warn me which way that chicken was going. I had a standing order at the Farmer's Market to sell my eggs when the price dropped to a certain level. No little bird gave me any insider information.
DR SEUSS:
Did the chicken cross the road? Did he cross it with a toad? Yes, the chicken crossed the road, but why it crossed I've not been told.
ERNEST HEMINGWAY:
To die in the rain. Alone.
JERRY FALWELL:
Because the chicken was gay! Can't you people see the plain truth in front of your face? The chicken was going to the "other side." That's why they call it the "other side. Yes, my friends, that chicken is gay. And if you eat that chicken, you will become gay too. I say we boycott all chickens until we sort out this abomination that the liberal media whitewashes with seemingly harmless phrases like "the other side" That chicken should not be free to cross the road. It's as plain and simple as that!
GRANDPA:
In my day we didn't ask why the chicken crossed the road. Somebody told us the chicken crossed the road, and that was good enough.
BARBARA WALTERS:
Isn't that interesting? In a few moments, we will be listening to the chicken tell, for the first time, the heart warming story of how it experienced a serious case of molting, and went on to accomplish its life long dream of crossing the road.
JOHN LENNON:
Imagine all the chickens in the world crossing roads together - in peace.
ALBERT EINSTEIN:
Did the chicken really cross the road, or did the road move beneath the chicken?
BILL CLINTON:
I did not cross the road with THAT chicken. What is your definition of chicken?
AL GORE:
I invented the chicken!

Brain Pulling
During my day, I have been calling customers (new and old) to see if they have anything for me to work on for them. Sometimes I call because I have sent out literature or a sample product to them too. This isn't a weird thing to do. What I find weird is that I am now starting to dream about calling customers and celebrities too. I was calling Rachel and Ross from Friends last night...Isn't that just weird? I haven't seen Friends, not even a repeat, in years....Where does your brain pull these things from?
I have been feeling pretty down about things. I just don't know what is going to happen with me and my life. I could sure use some prayers sent up if it feels right...

I am trying to deal with it
If you’re like me, and you are reading my diary so we have to have something in common…
You woke up this morning asking yourself, “With so many freaking people in this world... Why do I have to get up and do anything today?”
I am proud of you if you thought this way.
HOWEVER, if you are not like the rest of us by thinking this way, I want you to rearrange your life and gradually put off your life-goals.
Peer pressure... Deal with it.
NOTE: Did I mention that I have a pounding headache and an egg could easily fry outside on the sidewalk because it is feels like it is 150 degrees?
Sorry for the sarcasm today.

APB out for my PARENTS!

I lifted this picture from my mothers blog. I just loved this picture of my niece and of my dad fishing. They took her camping for 4 days and all of us here were having withdrawl from not seeing her. I left several messages stating I was going to call the police and tell them she was kidnapped if my parents did not get home with her soon. (LOL!) Seriously, I LOVE that she is so loved...every child deserves to have so many people who love them.
